re-reading Follet – Books and my Shelf

https://booksandmyshelf.wordpress.com/2008/12/14/re-reading-follet

Books and my Shelf. December 14, 2008. March 2, 2012. My book cleaning up spree isn’t over yet because every time I stumble upon a good book, I stop cleaning and start reading. Last night, I started to re-read Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth. I think this is already my seventh copy. I either gave away the other copies or they were simply borrowed and not returned. I will have a lot of re-readings to do and Follett is definitely one of the book authors I would spend the holidays with. Click to share on...

a gold mine… – Books and my Shelf

https://booksandmyshelf.wordpress.com/2009/02/20/a-gold-mine

Books and my Shelf. A gold mine…. February 20, 2009. March 26, 2013. After following Captain Sullenberger’s history landing at the Hudson with the hope that some writer might think of publishing his story, I was back to my online quest for some interesting books and authors. I also bumped into a bonus site that features Christian books and book authors of a self-publishing company. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Crash at the Hudson. Fill in your ...

new old books to read – Books and my Shelf

https://booksandmyshelf.wordpress.com/2009/03/15/new-old-books-to-read

Books and my Shelf. New old books to read. March 15, 2009. March 26, 2013. I was too early for my meeting with a friend to discuss this business venture she’s seriously considering so I passed by a nearby bookstore first to check on what’s new on the bestseller’s list. I ended up buying two new copies of some old books. Guess what they are? Book 1 and 10 of Carolyn Keene’s Nancy Drew mystery series! I have the whole set but lost these two books a long time ago. Now I have the collection complete again.

GREEK salad and a concoction of friends loving books – Books and my Shelf

https://booksandmyshelf.wordpress.com/2009/03/10/greek-salad

Books and my Shelf. GREEK salad and a concoction of friends loving books. March 10, 2009. March 26, 2012. I had a great dinner last week in this new fancy Greek restaurant with two of my girl friends a meat lover and a vegetarian. The most interesting topic, aside from the delectable Greek-style salad (and how could I forget its name? In an extremely large serving, was our life with the different books we own, kept, lost and gave away. Instead, I draw my icon (oh yes, I do have one! On a certain page of ...

reading Nancy Drew – Books and my Shelf

https://booksandmyshelf.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/reading-nancy-drew

Books and my Shelf. February 21, 2012. And so my youngest niece is finally reading! Tired, or maybe bored, from doing word searches and crossword puzzles, she went to the bookshelf and picked The Secret of the Old Lock – the first book of the Nancy Drew series. In a few minutes she finished the first chapter, closed the book and told me she’ll read the rest of the book when she has time. Now, I wonder when does a nine year old ever become too busy to read? I can only shake my head. A book on history.

a hard habit to break | MY RANDOM NOTIONS

https://myrandomnotions.wordpress.com/2013/02/01/a-hard-habit-to-break

From nothingness to significance. February 1, 2013. A hard habit to break. For a fraction of a second, I couldn’t figure out where I was when I woke up to the sound of chirping birds instead of my alarm clock! And I know I was not dreaming. After weeks, or perhaps months, of sleeping only for an average of 4-5 hours a night – with lots of interruptions, I finally got to sleep for 8 straight hours. And that’s in the comfort of my new abode. 8221; Well, some things are simply hard habits to break. Change d...

sleep would probably be it | MY RANDOM NOTIONS

https://myrandomnotions.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/sleep-would-probably-be-it

From nothingness to significance. December 4, 2012. Sleep would probably be it. I was in a table-talk with a psycho-therapist a few weeks back and she told me I must know how to take care of myself before I would know how to take care of others. How do I take care of me then. 8221; I asked. She smiled and answered, “. Only you can answer that question. Oh, well… I had no immediate answer. No, I was not in a therapy class – though my being obsessively and compulsively crazy, me thinks, is incurable! This ...

Day 9: Nine Loves | MY RANDOM NOTIONS

https://myrandomnotions.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/day-9-nine-loves

From nothingness to significance. December 20, 2012. Day 9: Nine Loves. When it comes to love, there are so many things on my plate making today’s entry not so mind-numbing! But trimming the number to nine is fair enough. After all, I was told that a huge part of this exercise is restraint. The items below are not exactly in proper order but they are listed as they randomly cross my mind in my vain attempt to beat the deadline I’m giving myself for this 10-day exercise. Of course I have e-books! Any girl...

From nothingness to significance. December 21, 2012. Day 10: Ten Secrets. I keep my privacy but I’m not secretive. I am what-you-see-is-what-you-get. So, these ten secrets I’m disclosing are classified as private, for I only share them to those close to me – or at least to those who know me. Since I’m fully loaded with caffeine and still wide awake, I’m baring 10 parts of my private self to the world wide web to finally complete this. Ten day you challenge. 2] Journals and poetry. From nothingness to significance. January 16, 2013. Meeting for a meeting. There’s so much writing tasks to do; I don’t know where to start! Perhaps visiting my not-so-often-updated-anymore blog is not a bad idea. I failed to do my usual year-end musings and 2013 burst into the picture like an earsplitting thunder in the rain! Books & Musings | Books, thoughts and a lot more…

Books, thoughts and a lot more…. November 28, 2015. Tolerance intolerance – potato potato. I have visited my blog after so long that I had forgotten the look and feel of it. (I was pleasantly surprised to see such a lovely green – it was refreshing.) Being a mom and having your own law firm leaves you very little time to do much else.
