Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing: Somewhat lacking in photos

http://4obsessions.blogspot.com/2014/05/somewhat-lacking-in-photos.html

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Thursday, May 01, 2014. Somewhat lacking in photos. I blame the raspberries in gin. My book group met last week and I had my camera long enough to photograph the appetizer and drink and then I misplaced the camera. The book we were celebrating was Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Americanah. Here's the one photo I managed to take:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Calabac...

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Thursday, July 14, 2005. And yet another reason. Reason number 6 of why I like knitting more than installing and finishing hardwood floors:. Have you ever had to dress like this to knit? I know, my Lord Vader dust mask and foam knee pads set off my work clothes in a most becoming fashion. And I don't even have my ear protector muffs on yet. 3 C chilled buttermilk.

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Monday, July 14, 2014. I know I very recently blathered at some length. About how wonderful Hild. Is, but now I love it even more. A Face Like Glass. Why is this book only available in the US as an ebook? Grrrr I was under the impression that Fly by Night. Popular in the UK with the books supplemented by tv and stage shows. And even toy tie-ins. We bought three of thes...

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Friday, June 15, 2007. And now for the good stuff. I may not have cared for the book we read for our book group, but once again, the food was fantastic. Coming up with food that you want to eat based on a circus theme is not the easiest task. Hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy? Fast to make. Definitely a keeper of a recipe. Curried Peanut and Tomato Soup. 1 can (14-oz)...

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Monday, September 08, 2014. A well-stocked request list helps me feel secure. And all of us adapting to lots of new situations and schedules, I need all the soothing I can get. I bought and started David Mitchell's latest, The Bone Clocks. And oh my god it is already so good). Here are some highlights of books that I'm looking forward to:. By Stephan Eirik Clark. I...

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing: England: Food

http://4obsessions.blogspot.com/2014/08/england-food.html

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Thursday, August 21, 2014. How much has food changed in England? But nothing of the kind now days. Not only did I not fear for myself or my family food safety wise, there was uniformly accessible and decent food nearly everywhere we went. We had some amazing fish and chips up in Whitby:. We did a good amount of self-catering since we were in rentals with kitchens almos...

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Sunday, March 23, 2014. The book was The Flamethrowers. Generated a passionate discussion about art, sexism, authenticity, and meaning. BIG subjects. Part of The Flamethrowers. Took place in Italy so that guided our meal (well, except for the salad I brought, but then I didn't read the book so I figured I was exempt). And Meg made a salt-crusted roasted red snapper,.

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Sunday, July 13, 2014. A week ago, we returned from a two-week long family trip to England: Yorkshire, Cambridge and London, to be more specific. I'm breaking this down into a series of posts so I have an excuse to upload and share some of my approximately 400 photos without boring people to tears. Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Friday, June 12, 2009. Ami adapted a vichyssoise recipe to make this gorgeous cold potato garlic soup. It was velvety and rich, but also refreshing- not an easy juxtaposition to pull off (recipe below). Oh yea, and there was a book! I confess I didn't re-read Monsters of Templeton. Ami's Cold and Creamy Potato Garlic Soup. 2 C finely diced raw potatoes. A dash of nutmeg.

Four Obsessions: perpetually shifting between cooking, reading, knitting and writing. A place for friends and fellow obsessors to gather. Thursday, January 21, 2010. No photo for this recipe because I have discovered that next-day lentil soup is one of the uglier things on the planet. But don't let that bias you against this recipe! Creamy tomato, or other pureed varieties. And chlodnik. And if you want a photo before you'll try the recipe, go to the Food52. I read through their recipe and used most of t...

In an effort to track some of the more notable books or thoughts about books I have read- enjoy! Monday, January 7, 2013. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern * * (Sound Recording by Jim Dale). The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves. And it is only open at night. Divergent (YA, Book 1).

Search by typing and pressing enter. Books read in 2016. By Laura Van Den Berg. Creepy horror stories in graphic novel format. The art is incredible though the stories didn't really stick with me (I picked up the book after a week and didn't remember that I'd read the first three stories already.) Monday, April 19, 2010. Eclipse - Stephanie Meyer. This is the best in the series by far and I am authorized to say that now that I am half way through Breaking Dawn. My heart bled for Jacob through this book and I would have loved for Bella to go with him. Sighhhh! The conversations between Jacob and Edwards while they await the newborn vampires is very interesting and I am desperately looking forward to the movie now:D If possible, please please stop at Eclipse and do not venture to read Breaking Dawn.
