The Writing Life x3: Boston Theater Marathon 16, round up
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2014/05/boston-theater-marathon-16-round-up.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Boston Theater Marathon 16, round up. As many of you know, the Boston Theater Marathon. Is one of my very favorite theater events of every year. With 53 short plays by 53 New England playwrights, staged by 53 different companies, it's an ideal opportunity to see a cross section of the local talent pool and to be inspired by the voices of dozens of playwrights. And it helps benefit the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund. I laughed awfully hard (and took notes in case I ever have to m...

The Writing Life x3: December 2014
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Writing by the Numbers, 2014. Produced by Fresh Ink, with Louise Hamill, Sheldon Brown, Gillian Mackay-Smith, Daniel Boudreau, directed by Liz Fenstermaker, photo by Jeff Mosser. I think it's fair to wonder, when it comes to gathering all these numbers: Why bother? Why track so much? Which states that by attempting to measure something, you end up having an impact on the result, just through the mere act of observation. Writing and submitting plays isn't exactly quantum ...

The Writing Life x3: Mad Dash, year two
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2014/07/mad-dash-year-two.html
Friday, July 11, 2014. Mad Dash, year two. I'm taking part in the Fresh Ink/Interim Writers 24-hour hour play festival and fundraiser, The Mad Dash. Are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. The Writing Life x3: In The Thick Of It (and how I learned to stop worrying about climbing)
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2014/11/in-thick-of-it-and-how-i-learned-to.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. In The Thick Of It (and how I learned to stop worrying about climbing). Images from the plays I've been working on in this 18-month stretch. And then switch the next week/day to Lab Rats. And then back to Distant Neighbors. I've found the whirlwind I've been looking for, and I wanted to say that I'm here and I'm grateful. Constant State of Panic. Pat: This is great. You are wise beyond your years. Every artist (everyone) should read this. November 15, 2014 at 12:17 PM. Moving (...

The Writing Life x3: July 2013
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 12, 2013. Okay, I've taken a couple naps after a long farm workday yesterday (I started work at 5:45am, and didn't get home until 8:30pm), so I think I'm ready for to stay up most of the night and write a new play for the Mad Dash Festival. This is me now:. We'll see how awake I am a little later. I think this is going to require a lot of dark chocolate (I'm not a coffee drinker.) Can't wait to see who I'm paired up with. The Writing Life x3: Hey, kids, what color are your gatekeepers?
http://writinglife3.blogspot.com/2014/09/hey-kids-what-color-are-your-gatekeepers.html
Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Hey, kids, what color are your gatekeepers? I've been putting off writing about this. My motivation for blogging comes in spurts. This has been a busy time for my theatre work- with lots of workshops and readings and productions of plays coming up. As a writer of novels, I've spent a lot of time and energy trying to find publishers for those books. Sometimes with some success- my first book, Tornado Siren. And my third novel, Buried Treasure. They talk about the power of books...
