Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Comments Off on Happy New Year 2015. Happy New Year 2015. I’m still alive. Just needed to say that, considering my last post was waaaay back in September. Not going to say much about health because this is supposed to be a fresh start. Still battling things offline, and trying to write positive things online starting this year. (Occasional updates, yes but not full-fledged emo Nemo.). Tags for this Entry:. I am prone ...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Only full blog archives from 2010 will be displayed, with selected entries from 2009 and before. I’ve been writing for way longer than that (since 2001). But I was still young, naive and (embarrassingly) angsty so most of those entries shouldn’t see the light of day. Comments are automatically disabled for posts older than 20 days. Happy reading! 05: Why I am so anxious about dentists. 13: Sorry, Hostgator! 02: Everyo...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. My need for a sense of control. After more than 4 months of non-stop battling and being away from work for more than 2, I’ve come to several realizations. But apparently, you can’t force a schedule on your body’s recovery. Instead. I set schedules on my action plans. If I don’t feel better in 5 days, do X. If minimal improvement in 2 weeks, do Y. Not giving up, and looking forward to better days. Though it’s get...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Comments Off on Probably the silliest thing I’ve ever done so far. Probably the silliest thing I’ve ever done so far. San Francisco, 1st March 2012. Happened to hear about the cement slides. At Seward Street and was intrigued by it. Since I was in San Francisco and it was (relatively) easy to get to, I thought. Either that, or. No adults allowed unless accompanied by children. At the top of the world, uh, slide. The r...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. The quietest Chinese New Year ever. Wishing one an all a Happy Chinese New Year of the Horse. Take this year to horse around as much as you can, and be nice to all your. Note: “Fat” is a dialect for “fa” in Mandarin, which means “prosper”. It all feels a bit strange. Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Comments Off on Have a loose ring? Here’s how you can tighten it. Have a loose ring? Here’s how you can tighten it. I love rings. So much so I have a ridiculous number of them. It’s rather easy to get nice rings (cheaply too) here in Singapore, with my favourite haunts being the weekly flea markets at SCAPE. And on the mobile e-commerce app Carousell. My funky (bordering slightly on geeky) ring collection. Actually, a...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Still trying to look on the brighter side of things. Though it’s getting a little harder, considering how it’s been 2 months and counting. I’m pretty much home-ridden now. And no matter how I had sought to make my room my ‘ultimate hang out spot’ much earlier this year, I realized it’s possible to get absolutely sick of it. Many a time, I find myself missing my normal life. Having regular conversations with people that.

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Why I am so anxious about dentists. I wrote a post about how IV sedation benefited me. During a dental procedure back in 2010, which subsequently led to several emails from fellow dental anxiety sufferers wanting to know more. Thank you guys for writing in, and I hope you managed to get your dental woes sorted out. I guess this will be a sequel. Warning – super long post ahead! 8220;ohmygosh, so embarassing! He then a...

Hello, I blog! I write with no particular theme in mind, because I am random like that. Remembering the jet-setting grandmother. Almost a month ago, almost the entire extended family stood in vigil as my grandmother breathed her last, in bed 3003 in Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. We watched as her heart rate fell from the 50s, to the 40s, the thirties and the sudden, prolonged 0. Two months ago, nobody saw this coming. She was still happily playing mahjong at home. In December, my grandm...
