Brendan's Story: Grief

https://brendans-story.blogspot.com/2017/01/grief.html

The story of Brendan's valiant battle with cancer. Monday, January 2, 2017. Grief . . it's a topic I've wanted to write about for months, but it's a hard thing to understand. Maybe because no two people experience it the same way. Maybe because we're afraid we don't do it right. Maybe because we don't want to face the pain of it. January 3, 2017 at 10:27 AM. January 3, 2017 at 8:04 PM. I love you and wish you a Happy New Year surround with love. Rexene. January 6, 2017 at 8:48 AM. I seem to have had a lo...

Brendan's Story: It Begins. . .

https://brendans-story.blogspot.com/2015/10/it-begins.html

The story of Brendan's valiant battle with cancer. Saturday, October 10, 2015. It Begins. . . My heart has been so touched these last few days with the many messages and texts from family and friends! During the weekend Brendan watched General Conference and he mentioned a couple of times how his left eye was "fuzzy." I didn't think much about it - - we had watched lots of TV that weekend! A few more questions and prompts from the nurse and we all realized that he couldn't see out of his left eye at all.

Brendan's Story: August 2016

https://brendans-story.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

The story of Brendan's valiant battle with cancer. Sunday, August 28, 2016. It was with great excitement we set off today for Primary Children's Hospital. We were specifically headed to the Ronald McDonald Family Room to prepare dinner for whomever needed a free home cooked meal and a chance to get out of a cramped hospital room, and maybe a chance to visit with other parents. Dinner is always served from 6-7 pm (breakfasts at 10 am and lunch at 1 pm), so we arrived a few hours early to prepare. It's har...

https://brendans-story.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html

The story of Brendan's valiant battle with cancer. Sunday, October 30, 2016. Tonight we were invited to a gathering of the Fenton family for a sneak peek. . . The Fenton's stuck with us every step of Brendan's journey - and beyond. Meals have come from Jeanne and Tony on each month anniversary of Brendan's death. She enlisted the help of this wonderful lady (Laurie Hansen (in the yellow sweater), her daughter-in-laws mother) to help decorate the tree. Between the two of them, they created this beauti...

Brendan's Story: February 2016

https://brendans-story.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html

The story of Brendan's valiant battle with cancer. Monday, February 29, 2016. Life Is A Highway. Brendan says that is our theme song tonight. Instead of enjoying Family Home Evening at home with the family, Brendan and I ended up driving down to Primary Children's Hospital 14 hours ahead of schedule. Brendan played while I packed. We dragged our feet and left only when we were pressed to make it to the hospital by 8 pm. It's always hard to leave Cache Valley. The State Capitol was beautiful tonight.

Saturday, January 31, 2015. This season of high school swimming has been a wonderful one! Today was our Region championships. Sky View girls have not won one for the past 19 years and the boys for the last 20. During the season we began to see that we had a serious shot at it this year. Well. Sky View Boys and Girls SWEEP the 4A Region 5 Championships! Chase took 5th in the 100 Breaststroke! He ended up beating out 2 swimmers from the final fastest heat. He was so happy! Wednesday, February 25, 2015. To pick up where we left off almost a month ago. Chase ended up getting to go to the high school STATE championships. He ended up missing a seed spot in the 100 breast by .04. Ya, that's how things go in swim. I started off February sick. I missed the Bridgerland Open Swim meet hosted by our USA age group team, the Gators. It is the first one in 8 years that I missed. So glad Melissa ( she volunteered without know what she was in for, thank goodness! View my complete profile.

Monday, September 15, 2014. A whole new world has been opened to Chase since turning 16 and school starting, DANCES! He told me on the Tuesday before the dance that he was going to ask a friend of his to go and that they had rounded up a group. Problem #3 done. His friend D. asked her friend on Thursday night.Yes, I know that is pushing it for these poor girls to find a dress. There was also another couple joining in. Problem #1 done. Chase's date volunteered to drive them all. She's a trooper! Let's go ...

http://daveandtrishandersen.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 10, 2014. Today was the day. Every year I have gone to the Health Days 5k for Chase to run. Every year I have said "Maybe next year". Well somewhere that came back to bite me. HARD! My great sister-in-law, Keri (who runs) volunteered to run it with me. I am so thankful to her! Chase and Shiloh ran the 10k and they did great! My main goal was to finish but my next goal was to finish before them. I did by about 11 minutes. Yay! Friday, May 2, 2014. I LOVE the flowers! I will bring them home i...

Andersen Family Chronicles: July 2014

http://daveandtrishandersen.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 26, 2014. Yesterday was a special day. There was not a great deal of pomp and circumstance. No gifts or parties. It passed by like many other days with work, cleaning, tending, and taking care of daily tasks. It was pretty much life as we know it, but it was special because it was our life. Dave's and mine. We acknowledged and celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary! Sunday, July 6, 2014. We only had 2 weeks! The planning and excitement began. I was still feeling VERY nervous about the...

Tuesday, February 11, 2014. On the good ship Lollipop. So sad to hear of the passing of Shirley Temple. We watched a lot of her movies when McKenna was little. McKenna was our little Shirley Temple. She had the curls and the animated personality to go with it! She loved to sing, dance, and pretend! She was our own little performer. She loved to go next door and watch the Shirley Temple movies with her Grandpa Griffiths! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. On the good ship Lollipop.

Andersen Family Chronicles: March 2014

http://daveandtrishandersen.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 14, 2014. 26 years ago today. It seems like yesterday, sorta, but 26 years ago today our sweet Shanae made us parents. We were so young then, just kids ourselves. It was a very long, hard, and miserable labor and delivery. That also provided a long, hard and miserable recovery but holding that sweet little baby made it all worth it. She was born with a full head of hair which was so fun to put bows in. I learned to sew with Shanae. This little sailor dress was my first project! Fresh foto a...

Sunday, August 24, 2014. I was so excited to take some time Saturday to go to a very special place with a very special young woman I have been so privileged to know. Jessica was a laurel when I was the Young Women president and I fell in love with her sweet and happy spirit, gorgeous smile, example of service, and her kindness to everyone. Jess is going to be a missionary in the San Antonio, Texas mission beginning in January 2015! She loves warm weather so this should suit her just fine! I decided to ap...

Brendan's Bike Blog

I am obsessed with all things bicycle. Riding them, building them, selling them. I don't know why. This blog is my attempt to tame the obsession just a little. Enjoy! Friday, October 12, 2007. I picked Steve up from his house at 6:15 am. Our first stop at 6:20 was Smartworld coffee. I knew we were off to a good start when I saw that one of the girls working there uses a Van Dessel cyclocross bike to commute to work from Madison. Plus, they had fresh cho. See Day 2 for more! Brendan's Blog

Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am hunting wabbits" Part 1. It all started one crisp fall morning. I was waiting down stairs in my kitchen for my friend Joe to come and pick me up for camping. At about nine thirity his blue car pulled up and he came sprinting up to the door like a kid running to a candy store. Joe burst through the door abd said " Jack grad your gear, we are going rabbit hunting.". Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Brendan's Island

Like the Brendan's Island of legend and history, Small Town America is often more of a myth than a real place. But, just as real places very likely lie behind the story of St. Brendan's voyage, real places lie behind the myth of Small Town America. Brendan's Island, the website, reflects the reality of small town America, at least in my experience here in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Brian H. Gill, Webmaster. Sauk Centre This Season. A Sauk Centre Journal. Your guide to Brendan's Island. You might find it here.

A blog started to honor my son Brendan who lived 97 days on this earth. His life taught me to enjoy every moment. Thursday, November 14, 2013. 97 days Chapter One. October 18, 2009. It started like any other day. Well except for the fact that I was 9 months pregnant and 2 days overdue. We were having a boy and we were thrilled. After 3 miscarriages it was such a joy to find out that we were pregnant again, but that this time the baby had stuck around. In hand. Well, actually the bags were all in Jeff...
