http://irishbrentgoose.blogspot.com/2015/02/provisional-results-from-november-census.html
Thursday, 5 February 2015. Provisional Results from the November Census. This is the first time we have tried to conduct a Census of the geese at such a late stage in the Autumn, when we attempted to count as many as possible of our flyway geese on their early wintering grounds. The vast majority of counts came from the weekend of 08 - 09 November 2014. Strangford Lough 17,560. Dublin Bay 3,288. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). irishbrentgoose: Dublin: Feb-Mar 2015
http://irishbrentgoose.blogspot.com/2015/03/dublin-feb-mar-2015.html
Monday, 9 March 2015. This seemed to change a bit towards the end of the week and over the weekend, with large flocks regularly out on the grass at Springfield Road, Seagrange Park and Greendale. Tom and Ian at Rogerstown, just before the snow really started to fall. A great start to the week! Field team processing at Kingfisher Green. A good catch of 48 birds and only two birds ringed, which will be a surprise to anyone who knows this site. The team were excellent and the last bird went into the kee...

Knortegås bloggen: 12. september: Caretaker er første gås på efterårstræk
http://knortegaas.blogspot.com/2011/09/12-september-caretaker-er-frste-gas-pa.html
Heldigvis valgte Caretaker. Ingen anden brug tilladt uden deres skriftlige samtykke. 15 september: Ebbe og Caretaker flyver til Storbr.

irishbrentgoose: Staging Brent...
http://irishbrentgoose.blogspot.com/2015/04/staging-brent.html
Tuesday, 21 April 2015. News tonight, of our first re-sighting this spring from one of the Scottish Islands. This time it is from South Uist, where John Kemp. In a flock of 13 at Belgarva on saltmarsh. The low number of records from the Scottish Islands this spring perhaps reflects the settled and clear weather conditions. Often records from there are associated with fog, or the sudden onset of poor weather. Several records have also already been received from Iceland, from Oli Torfason. Carsten Egevang'...

Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Brent catching in Ireland - March 2015. As I write the Dublin-based team, mostly comprising the Exeter researchers led by Stuart Bearhop, are processing a very nice catch of 60 individual Brent in a week that has seen March go out with a roar! This catch is at Bull Island - thanks to all who are assisting with this catch and of course who spend time without such reward on the days when there are no successes. Monday, 9 March 2015. Tracking pink footed geese: 6.08 May sound a bit boring...
http://tracking-geese.blogspot.com/2012/08/608-may-sound-bit-boring.html
Tracking pink footed geese. Where are the geese. How does it work. 608 May sound a bit boring. I am back and so the blog news. Unfortunately there is not much to share with you. From the 'new' geese (geese tagged this year), only Johnny gives some signals from the North (OK, we got one position from R58). The 'old' team on the other hand is pretty active. Lukasz hopefully with his family left the nest and is probably moulting now in western Svalbard. Ingunn still around Ekmanfjorden.

Tracking pink footed geese: How does it work
http://tracking-geese.blogspot.com/p/how-does-it-work.html
Tracking pink footed geese. Where are the geese. How does it work. How does it work. I am sitting now at home in Roskilde and follow our geese. But how does it work that our geese are far from here but I can still know where they are? Our tags send signal through GPS antenna to the satellites orbiting around the Earth. Obtaining GPS positions are done exactly the same way as getting a position when we drive a car with satnav. In 2011 we bought 6 tags from. Each tag weighs 45g and has GPS and ARGOS system.

http://tracking-geese.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tracking pink footed geese. Where are the geese. How does it work. 2609 Danuta moving south. Danuta moved south to Trøndelag. He is very close to the place which he 'used' on the his way to the breeding ground. Now is roosting after long flight . Fingers crossed for more news from other folks. 18092011 Lukasz on his way home. 16092011 Hard times for the tags. We haven't received any signals from our birds since many days. The solar radiation, cloud cover and shrinking day time in the Arctic do not le...
