http://maniacwcamera.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2015. RIP Leonard Nimoy; 1931-2015, Renowned Actor; Fellow Photographer. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Morning With The Boundary Bay Eagles. Spent the morning of the twenty-sixth of February down at Boundary Bay communing with the bald eagles armed with my Nikon 600mm f/4. Considering that I only had a monopod to manage the 600mm, the shot to keeper ratio wasn't too great. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. A New Tripod Competitor Emerges - Jobu Algonquin. A proudly Canadian name). Night S...

Maniac With Camera Blog: Computer Down
http://maniacwcamera.blogspot.com/2015/07/computer-down.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. My younger son screwed up the computer. Now it will not boot at all. Well the computer went down again. I'm now stuck having to do all my blogposts on iPad. Now I am computer-less till July 20. And my younger son got his ears chewed off. He was on a on line game site when he should not have been. Unfortunately now I am going to have to spend almost $1000 to put all programs that I need to put on the computer to utilize the new computer for photography. I am not a computer technicia...

Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Shooting Hockey - How I Do It! Above photo)This is why you do not shoot 1/125th unless you're braced against the stanchion. And in this case the blur was because of the moving players not because of unsteady hands. In this case the only thing that would have helped was a higher ISO and shutterspeed. Make no mistake.this kind of thing happens quite often - just check out Scott Kelby's blog where he had the Professional Hockey Photo Workshop. Monday, October 20, 2014. Well, Hocke...

Maniac With Camera Blog: January 2015
http://maniacwcamera.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR - The 300/4 Cometh. Monday, January 5, 2015. So my gear when fully realized will be the Nikon D4s (FX) with 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII and my long-in-the-tooth Nikon D300s (pro-DX) armed with the 14-24mm f/2.8. Ideally a 300mm f/2.8 would be useful for getting close-in shots of hockey player's faces, but that's another $6,000 lens that I don't need to expend money on at the moment. Do I like have to acquire a new camera body? Maniac With Camera Blog.

Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Must-Have Lenses For The Camera Bag. The 14-24mm f/2.8 needs to be in my camera bag, not only will it allow me to take the photos of my son's team, I will be able to shoot photography for landscapes (for which a 14-24mm is a must-have lens). Maniac With Camera Blog: March 2015
http://maniacwcamera.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 16, 2015. With Spring around the corner, I had the urge to go find some cherry blossoms or sakura. There are plenty of places around the Lower Mainland to photograph cherry trees and the best way to locate them is through the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival website where you can locate Neighbourhood Maps. Tuesday, March 10, 2015. It was a foggy morning. So I decided to take advantage of that and photograph some trees close by for that eerie image. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We are a smal...

Photography Coaching ( Private Classes). Saturday, November 29, 2014. Seattle in Miniature :dltphoto. My new Olympus TG-850. Has this diorama mode as one of its "art filters". So I am basically shooting the scene and the camera is doing all the work for me. The key to a realistic fake City picture is having a high view point of a street view with people and cars, ideally not moving fast that they are blurred. No fake city model ever has fast moving static cars, got it? Here are some of my attempts. I hav...

Photography Coaching ( Private Classes). Friday, May 30, 2014. High Street (day version):dltphoto. I live in a wondrously beautiful area of the world, so many stunning views of mountains, a volcano and trees and rivers as far as the eye can see. With all this beauty sometimes you just need a little contrast. Here are some images from the newest commercial development called High Street. It has pretty interesting architecture creating some nice colours/ shadows and interesting lines. Links to this post.
