What have you found yourself reading this summer? Is it hard to read books when there is a world of summer and computers available to you? Or does the summery freedom make you read even more? My other topic in this particular post is summer reading assigned by school. This year (summer before eighth grade) we were assigned ...

Briar Kasvi: me... whatever that is

http://briarkasvi.blogspot.com/2008/09/me-whatever-that-is.html

Monday, September 22, 2008. Me whatever that is. Welcome Awesome McAwesome-Pants. It's nice to finally have been able to steal you from Toad Hill. September 26, 2008 at 6:12 PM. I agree with you about books offering solitude and I have used books to hide many times, unlike you I have never left my country (Australia) but it would be nice to travel. December 28, 2008 at 6:25 AM. Blonde Gothic- what sort of books do you find best put you a the solitary mood? January 2, 2009 at 11:46 AM. The me and the my.

Briar Kasvi: Reading in School

http://briarkasvi.blogspot.com/2008/11/reading-in-school.html

Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I can read a book and be perfectly satisfied and thought-provoked without having written essays about the setting, theme, mood and all that. At the same time, however, I find myself more aware of what the story is about, if I'm conscious of all of the technical aspects. What do you think? Does going over a book in class take the fun out of it? Or does it really depend on the teacher and how the book is being taught? Is it better to read just on your own? I haven't had to wri...

Tay Darramont: September 2008

http://taydarramont.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I read The City of Ember. My dear readers, have you ever, after reading an awesome book and eagerly awaiting/immediately seizing the sequel, been disappointed that it was not as good as the original? I would have to say that my biggest pet peeve (besides lame books in general) is lame sequels to really good books. I feel that it's almost insulting to the original book. . So, my question is, has this ever happened to you? Sunday, September 21, 2008. Me, Myself, and I. Suddenly...

Tay Darramont: What is your favorite book?

http://taydarramont.blogspot.com/2008/11/what-is-your-favorite-book.html

Wednesday, November 12, 2008. What is your favorite book? My dear fellow book lovers,. In the interest of finding out some interesting books to read, I have decided to ask you (yes, you! What your favorite book(s) is (are). I was thinking of using this as a poll question, but since everybody's answers will probably be different, that wouldn't really work very well. Leave your replies as comments! March 13, 2010 at 5:59 AM. No, wait. I gave you the wrong one, sorry. Heres the right one. Word of the Week.

Tay Darramont: Reader's Block

http://taydarramont.blogspot.com/2008/10/readers-block.html

Thursday, October 9, 2008. The weird thing about books for teens is that a lot of them are depressing. Or at least, a lot of the ones at my local library are depressing. Has this ever happened to you? So thank you, my dear fellow reviewers, for averting a potentially bad case of reader's block. Unfortunately, though, this method will not actually help me find new books to review. I must persevere in wading through shelves of sob stories in search of a good one. . Misty Novella: Plays...

http://mistynovella.blogspot.com/2008/12/plays.html

Monday, December 15, 2008. So, in English we just finished "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller and everyone was complaining about how the play was boring, too simple, lacked visuals, etc. My teacher told us to remember that The Crucible is a play, and plays are, in fact, meant to be SEEN and not just READ. But I don't know. I stand kind of divided on this issue. What do you think? Read the script, or watch the play? Miss Misty of Mystery. This comment has been removed by the author. Are you kidding me! Tay Darramont: Everyone's Favorite Summer Activity

http://taydarramont.blogspot.com/2009/06/everyones-favorite-summer-activity.html

Thursday, June 25, 2009. Everyone's Favorite Summer Activity. Ah, summer reading. Mandatory, teacher-assigned summer reading, that is. Exciting, no? On one hand, reading is exciting! Especially during the summer. I, personally, would read over the summer even if I didn't have to. On the other hand, the books that teachers assign are often (not always, but often) a huge yawn, and are also often depressing. And they wonder why so many kids don't like to read. Tay Darramont: April 2009

http://taydarramont.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 19, 2009. Something very weird happened to me last Wednesday. I experienced not one, but two (quite unrelated) coincidences that day. Here are the four events, in chronological order:. 1 On the way to school, I listened to a podcast of NPR's Sunday Puzzle. One of the puzzle solutions was ". Cast," as in, the cast of the musical. 2 Upon arriving, I frolicked off to chemistry class, where I engaged in a spirited discussion about fate and predetermined destinies. Was very good, by the way.

Monday, August 3, 2009. Oh summer. Wonderful summer. Oh how cold you have been. I've been wearing jeans this whole time and have only said 'I'm hot' once or twice. Amazing. What kind of summer is that? I have about a month before I go back to school. But I'm kind of starting to miss school. Except.Eek. Seniorism. Oldism. Blah. I'm no where near ready to be on my last year of high school. Speaking of high school.has anyone seen the new Harry Potter movie? Posted by Yours Truly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Are you a Math lover? I haven't posted on here for a while. For all of you who have given up hope, I'm sorry. All I can say is: Books. I had many to read. I still do, but I'm letting myself relax a little. It was really hard to read five books at once. Using six fours, can you make a problem where the end result will equal ten? I'm curious, am I the only one that over complicated this problem? Math loving and yours,. Posted by Yours Truly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
