ENGAGE:The Future of Missions | Leveraging What's Next...Now
https://globalnextnow.wordpress.com/2009/05/16/engagethe-future-of-missions
Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. ENGAGE:The Future of Missions. I’m not a theologian or a missiologist, but I am an experienced observer. But I have watched the paradigm shift and it’s picking up steam. The next generation isn’t “supporting” missions. Rarely will you find a young family that just sends a check and occaisionally comes to a service for a slide show of a missionarie’s work. The next generation isn’t “supporting” missions. If you are a church, a mission agency, a miss...
Cultural Engagement-The new normal? | Leveraging What's Next...Now

Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. Cultural Engagement-The new normal? Is a deeply respected ministry media consultant and I read some materials from him yesterday that addressed trends in ministry that effect all of us. He framed them as things that are open and things that are closed. This one caught my attention…. Closed: Political power was the method of choice for impacting culture. Open: Cultural engagement is the way to impact the culture. Leveraging technology, Kiva has figu...

The Jump point | Leveraging What's Next...Now
https://globalnextnow.wordpress.com/2009/08/18/the-jump-point
Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. I’m reading “Jump Point”. By Tom Hayes as he predicts the explosion of nodes within networks with a reproducible velocity that will create a point in time in the next few years(2011) that will be a very recognizable leap or “Jump Point” to a whole new way of global existence. A “Jump Point” is the moment when an emerging culture becomes the dominant culture. My favorite quote in the whole book is “the edge dissolves the center”. 8 Compete on trust.

Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. You can’t fight the network- Jump Point. In follow-up to my last post. About the book “Jump Point”. By Tom Hayes, he predicts the explosion of nodes within networks with a reproducible velocity that will create a point in time in the next few years(2011) that will be a very recognizable leap or Jump Point to a whole new way of global existence. What if they got upset with the church and were leading people to other churches? The network will be vir...

Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. Multisite-Why or Why Not? Bull;May 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment. Because of our own growth, I have tried to be a student of the whole multisite movement in recent months. I have heard both sides of the issue argued and I am reaching the conclusion that there is one very important outcome of the whole movement…. Churches are exploring and implementing creative new growth ideas in record numbers. Bull;May 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment. I am a “cloud...
Web 1.0, 2.0 and ultimately 3.0 | Leveraging What's Next...Now

Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. Web 10, 2.0 and ultimately 3.0. Was a one-way flow of information, through websites which contained ‘read-only’ material. Widespread computer illiteracy and slow internet connections added to the restrictions of the internet, which characterized web 1.0. Web 2.0. To feed my Web 2.0 habits I use a browser called Flock( www.flock.com. But my question is always “so what? How are you developing future content? Talking head or interactive? Leave a Reply...
Why | Leveraging What's Next...Now
https://globalnextnow.wordpress.com/about
Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. Over the last few years I have had the priviledge to participate in a myriad of ministry, education, missions, business and just everyday life discussions about the latest and greatest trends and tools. I have found myself a little overwhelmed, but at the same time energized by the threads of potential in the emergence of what’s next. I wonder how we should respond to these trends? That’s my passion. One Response to “Why”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Cultural Bankruptcy | Leveraging What's Next...Now
https://globalnextnow.wordpress.com/2009/05/30/cultural-bankruptcy
Leveraging What’s Next…Now. Getting to where it’s going. I rarely post things because I’ve figured them out, but I do post out of experience. It seems to me there is a thread of perspective in every organization that shapes the personality, culture and ultimately the success of their impact. The office talk can take several paths, but I think you can often chart the course by listening to what they talk about. What’s the climate in your ministry? By Bob Seymore on May 30, 2009.
