I’ve decided to buy a new bike, my trusted mountain bike although versatile, seems inappropriate for our journey in the spring. Following a few visits to various bike shops I settled on the Giant Defy 3 (below). They lovely people at Bridgtown Cycles. Put some Shimano SPD pedals. Onto the bike and I bought some cycling shoes. I unclipped my left foot, then attempted to put my right onto the deck, the gravel broke my fall.
