The Lower The Lattitude The Better The Attitude. A Caribbean Pirate's Lifestyle. Friday, April 11, 2008. The 42 ft sailing catamaran that I am skippering this week is a breeze to sail. It has an electric winch which makes it so easy to hoist the mainsail and trim the sheets. I also have charter guests with me who are more than willing to pitch in and help. We have had quite good sailing conditions the last few days and managed to have very pleasant sails to Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke.

I am working on some photo projects, so when I have more time ashore, I will travel around the island on a good day for a photo shoot. My old Nissan car can make it up and down the hills ok but I do take it quite easy. A four-wheel drive would be better, but until the day I own one, my reliable old Nissan will have to do. The weather looks to be pretty good this week, although there is a late-season north-swell running which will subside during the week. We were able to do some good sailing the first few days, but may even loose the normal 15 -18 knot easterly trade winds for a few days. Shame to have to motor around on a sail boat!
