Medical Admissions: June 2006
http://medicalemergency.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 27, 2006. In Riverside today. Kinda makes me glad I'm only outside for about 60 seconds, walking from the hospital to my car. Posted by Andy @ 10:06 PM. Sunday, June 25, 2006. Posted by Andy @ 9:38 PM. Friday, June 16, 2006. What a busy weekend! Talk about feast and famine. Last weekend, no invites meant no temptation to skimp on study time. This weekend, it seems like everyone decides to call at once! Good thing I have today off! Cuz this weekend isn't looking too productive =P. Someone el...

Tuesday, November 21, 2006. The 'Bang' heard 'round the world. I was really surprised, and excited, when one of my physician co-workers told me he loves playing Bang! This was the first time I'd ever met anyone that knew how to play the game with no association with Canaan. I thought that was pretty cool. So I was curious as to who told him about the game. This is where it gets crazy. My co-worker learned it from his cousin, who learned it from her brother, who learned it from me. Posted by Andy @ 6:26 PM.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006. I can drive again! Well, I finally got all my tires replaced today. Thanks to George. For their expert advice, and to Esther. For being my chauffeur all weekend. George recommended I buy the tires from tirerack.com. And I highly recommend it as well. Each tire has hundreds of user comments that you can read to get the "real" scoop. Posted by Andy @ 11:48 PM. Friday, January 27, 2006. As I got in my car today and drove up to the street, the ride felt unusually bumpy. Puzzled...
Medical Admissions: February 2006

Monday, February 27, 2006. English and the Olympics. I had the opportunity to watch a lot of the Winter Olympics this year. They said that this year, more countries won medals than in any other Winter Olympics. For covered events, NBC seems to try and interview the gold medalists, so we got to see a lot more athletes from different countries interviewed. What I find embarassing as an American. And as an Asian. It just makes me feel kind of ashamed as both an American and an Asian. Another favorite event ...
Medical Admissions: December 2005

Thursday, December 29, 2005. Recently, Gamespot wrote an interesting article on the dearth of innovation in games. And nowhere is this more true than in RPG's (like Final Fantasy). Because I'm really bored, I thought I'd list some universal RPGisms that we all take for granted, but would make no sense in the real world. 1 The world teeters on the brink of destruction. Time to send out the teenagers! 5 Who said war was supposed to be chaotic? Bashing each others' heads in like (presumably) civilized beings.

Friday, September 15, 2006. Haven't blogged in a while. I've spent much of my free time checking out reception sites on-line, as well as playing a PC game called Rome: Total War. Which one of my co-workers introduced me to. It's a combination turn-based city management (a la Civ) Real-time strategy for the battles. The game is ok; I'm only trying to get into it because I figure it will help me to build a relationship with my (non-Christian) co-worker. Gotta start somewhere, right? Posted by Andy @ 4:18 PM.

Friday, March 31, 2006. Wow, 3 years already! Time really has flown! To celebrate, we had dinner at Gochi. A japanese fusion tapas place. Being a tapas place, the menu selection is really quite overwhelming. I mean E and I were staring at the menu, and we had absolutely no idea where or even how to begin. Fortunately, the waitress was kind enough to take some time and make recommendations for dishes in every category. Very popular dish, I noticed several tables around us had also ordered this. According ...

Sunday, July 30, 2006. Way to go, girl! Amy Grant to Receive Star on Walk of Fame. After selling over 25 million albums worldwide and winning numerous GRAMMY Awards, Amy Grant will be honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September. She is the first artist with roots in Contemporary Christian Music to receive this honor (Urban/Gospel great Al Green previously received a star). Looks like your blazing yet another trail for future Christian artists onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame. James, Mar...

Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Haha, science finally catches up to conventional wisdom. ROME (Reuters) - Your heartbeat accelerates, you have butterflies in the stomach, you feel euphoric and a bit silly. It's all part of falling passionately in love - and scientists now tell us the feeling won't last more than a year. The powerful emotions that bowl over new lovers are triggered by a molecule known as nerve growth factor (NGF), according to Pavia University researchers. Wed Nov 30, 2005 9:36 AM ET. Up) e...

Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Paid 1/2 day off, every week. My 2nd week at work, and I just realized the full significance of one of the perks. We get every Tuesday afternoon off as paid "education time", or "ET", as they call it here. When I was interviewing here, I had assumed that that meant the whole afternoon was full of conferences or meetings, for training purposes; I thought the "time off" part just meant we had no patient duties. Afterwards. Wow, pretty cool, huh? Posted by Andy @ 11:24 AM. 2 France, 1...

A boy who became a man. The man who was Byrhtnoth. December 31, 2016. And tagged New Year. It’s New Years Eve and everyone is writing/blogging/tweeting their view of the past year. I thought I’d join in the fun. So, 2016 – worse year ever? Yes, everyone worries what 2017 will bring – it hasn’t happened yet, enjoy today. Molly on Boxing Day. We have ha...

Lunes, junio 27, 2016. Si no tuviéramos miedo. A desaparecer de la memoria. No nos sentiríamos solas. Si no tuviéramos miedo.
