Princess A: February 2009
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 8, 2009. Growing up, my neighbor that lived directly behind me, Paige, introduced me to the joys of steamed artichokes and melted butter. I knew the joys of melted butter before her, of course. But artichokes. My FAVORITE vegetable of all time, by far. I relished the dinners when we ate them growing up. It's the simple things in life, right? Steamed with melted butter. Time to eat! Pull off each leaf, dip in butter and scrape with your teeth. Mmm. Posted by Adriene Rathbun. Since I was a...

Princess A: June 2009
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 21, 2009. After months of wanting one, I have invested in a nicer camera. Expect much, much better photos from here on out. I'm very excited. A couple days ago, I decided to break the new Canon. 160;and take some pics of the garden. Here's a quick taste of what's growing in our garden this year:. Tomatoes - there's nothing better than a fresh, homegrown tomato! Basil, so I can make jars and jars of pesto and Caprese salad - yum! Posted by Adriene Rathbun. Links to this post. And finally for ...

Princess A: Italia - day four afternoon
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009/11/italia-day-four-afternoon.html
Sunday, November 22, 2009. Italia - day four afternoon. Perugia was a lovely town in Umbria that was full of history, charm and Baci (a Perugian chocolate that means "kisses" in Italian). Our tour group only spent an afternoon there, but when we return to Italy someday, I will spend several days there to really take time to soak it all in. A lush, green fountain. Could it be reproduced in my backyard please? Gorgeous architectural details everywhere you look. No caption needed. Just yum. Oh the shoes in ...

Princess A: May 2009
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Summer time at our house means less time in the kitchen, lots of time in the garden and salads for dinner. There's a couple new summer salads we've really enjoyed so far this year. All three of these are new additions to our repertoire. Lima Bean Artichoke Salad. 3 cups frozen lima beans (calls for fava, but I used lima). 32 kalamata olives (this number made me laugh, but I did stand at the olive bar at the store and count out 32). 2 jars marinated quartered artichokes, drained.

Princess A: Italia - day four lunch
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009/10/italia-day-four-lunch.html
Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Italia - day four lunch. Lunch in Italy is my kind of eats. Several courses, usually finished off with a lovely dessert. After visiting the charming walled city of Assisi, we took a 15-minute bus ride and stopped at this lovely restaurant for lunch with the group. This particular type of pasta is called "Stranglers" because people choke on them. The Bolganese sauce was divine. I will find a recipe to recreate it in the very near future. Princess A: July 2009
http://princessadriene.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2009. Italia - day four. Assisi. Who knew what an enchanting place this walled city would be. It's most famous for St. Francis and the Basilica named in honor of him. It's so difficult to put into words the feeling you have when you're there, so I'll let the photos do the talking. I spent lots of time editing these photos, hence the long overdue post. The wall around Assisi as we approached. Just outside the city wall. Another outside the wall. Inside the city wall. One of the many enc...
