The Nick Safari: October 2006
http://nicksafari.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Monday, October 23, 2006. I thought I'd spare you my usual verbal dribble, and give you some random photos. These are roughly from the Italy to England leg of the trip, and there's not many of myself, seeing as i'm usually the one behind the camera. Plus they're not in any semblance of order; i like chaos and you should too. A village in Chinque-Terra, Italy. A common sight in Mostar, Bosnia. As a concluding sidenote: i have now eaten snake. Finally. I'm now writing to you...

The Nick Safari: June 2006
http://nicksafari.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Tuesday, June 20, 2006. I'm now residing in Naples, Italy - a city world famous for inventing the pizza, having some of the most beautiful churches in Europe, and of having a mafia that uses particularly innovative and grotesque methods of murdering people (best story i've heard so far involved a small boy and a barrel of acid. but i said that South Australia does that kind of thing on a mass scale all the time anyway). Other random points of interest in Italy:. Does anyon...

Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Saturday, July 15, 2006. Yep, i'm still heading east. I've now moved on from the Balkan region, and recently hit Bucharest, Romania. Why Romania of all places? Well, it's the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler of course! Better known to us as Dracula). So it's kind of a nerdy pilgrimage you could say. Dear Romanian Government,. So, as a rich Western country without a heart, concience, or soul, we request that in future YOU TIGHTEN YOUR BLOODY BORDERS, CAPICHE? Ok i'm off. ...

Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Bluelist-o-rama - Part 2. As promised, here is the other bluelist i wrote. Oh but first i should mention that i (somehow) managed to cut bluelist #1 down to the acceptable word limit. So i've entered it into the competition. You can find it here. Five reasons why you should always sleep in a mosquito net in Southeast Asia. And the following message is for Lachy's Widget: Chuntometer0 - if you don't know what this means, go here. I'd love to ge...

The Nick Safari: December 2006
http://nicksafari.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Tuesday, December 05, 2006. Back to the City of Churches. It's all over. All over. The adventure is finished. At least, it's over. Everyone who knows me well enough knows that i have a serious bug living inside me. and i'm not just talking about that tape worm i picked up in China - i'm talking about the so-called 'travel bug'. And that's where i'll be making my stupid observations and constant spelling mistakes from now on. As for Adelaide, it sucks. Never travel here.

Sunday, May 28, 2006. The Darkness: Permission to Land. Right, that does it. Once the fundamentalists attack The Darkness, I'm taking a stand. "F-words, s-words and misuses of God’s name stand out", claims this religious review of 2003's rockingest debut. This website, Plugged In. Helpfully gives you "pro-social" and "objectionable" content for each album. Strangely they missed out the pro-love song "I Believe In A Thing Called Love". The Black Eyed Peas,. The Pussycat Dolls,. Hail to the Thief. It's nic...

Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Saturday, September 09, 2006. From Bucharest to Betws-y-Coed PART TWO. I also realise the last post was a bit lengthy, so i'll attempt to limit this discussion to three principle events: violence in Budapest, violent music in Holland, and violence in England. There. sounds like fun, positive topics right? You should be thankful i'm not including all the Nazi and Soviet memorial sights i visited in Germany, that's some real violence, so no complaints. Anyway, let's begin.

Sunday, April 16, 2006. How to be a New Sensation. How to make a Rogue Traders song. 1 Take a pop song from the late seventies (Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up" from 1978; The Knack's "My Sharona" from 1979). 2 Sample a key riff from said pop song. 3 Babble some catchy gibberish over the top of it. (Examples may include "Baby, baby, baby, you are my voodoo child" or "I see you watching me, watching you". If you can make sense of the last lyric please post a comment.). How to make a Pete Murray song. Watch y...

Welcome Aboard the Nick Safari! Friday, March 31, 2006. Mary and The Coyote. Madrid isn't much of a capital, i must say. I mean, it's a fantastic city - but its not as huge or as imposing as i was expecting. They don't even have any skyscrapers here! Their only 'skyscraper' is located out of the centre of the city, and measures up to an astounding 71meters. and i'm no architect, but i reckon our State Bank building would kick the absolute crap out of those measurements. Yeah, go Adelaide! Wednesday, Marc...
