Thoughts, tips, and reviews of hikes in the inland empire. Friday, July 8, 2016. Over the past 1 1/2 years, we have improved a LOT on gear. Here is a picture that was token back in February, 2015. We were hiking Cactus to Clouds for the second time and Papa hadn't even joined the Hardhikers club yet. In fact, we hadn't even really started our hiking routine yet. I had no Camelbak, no altimeter, no first aid kit, no whistle, no anything. My grandparents got it for me for my birthday. REI (for hiking gear).

This was our first hike in the San Gorgonio mountains and our second mountain hike. Unfortunately, mom had strep throat. So we canceled a Mecca trip and. The other two hardhikers did some thinking. Thursday, October 30, 2014. I finally started substitute teaching this week! I had 4th graders one day and high school the next. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Yesterday we had such a fun time celebrating Thanksgiving. My parents, Susan's family (including her MIL), and Chris' brother's family all came out for the afternoon. The kids were amazing and played non-stop the entire time. Chris and I were commenting afterward how much adult talking time we were able to get considering we had 7 kids running around. :). Tuesday, July 21, 2015. If I were to list what we've had for dinners over the past few weeks, it would be way too embarrassing. We have had the same things over and over and over. I HATE when people crack their knuckles (or any bones for that matter). Not only do I hate the sound, I literally turn my face away from them because I can't watch. It also grosses me out when you have to make a tight fist before a nurse draws blood. I can't even look at my own hand when she makes me clinch. I NEED this cake!

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. My sister was able to obtain some free Legoland tickets. We had been very excited to use them. This morning we all squeezed in the car and took off! Saturday, June 27, 2015. When it comes to money, Cameron is my saver and Kendall is my spender. Recently Cameron had saved up enough to purchase an Altimeter (device that tells you your elevation). He is VERY excited to use it on our next hike. Today after we got it working, we tested it out and drove up the road to see it change. :). I hate the original Goldfish crackers, but I LOVE the flavored ones. I was quite happy when Chris came home today with S'mores (my favorite) for our road trip tomorrow.

Saturday, December 27, 2014. This past week I've been working on a mailing project for my dad. Kendall always loves to help me. This time we watched some TV while we worked. I introduced her to Saved By the Bell. She LOVES it! I only show the older episodes and skip the ones about girlfriend/boyfriend stuff, but they have become quite a hit :). To hike up to Murray hill and back in 12 hours. At the start of Thanksgiving break, we headed out to the desert at 6:30am and hiked the loved, Murray Hill. Murray Hill from the east hike. My mom and my papa LOVE this hike. Not only was it in the desert, our favorite hiking place, but it was only 5 hours! Our third time on Murray hill.
