Soon after Agy's birthday on January 21st,. We celebrated Ute's birthday. On Tuesday, January 29th. Yummy pancakes in the morning. We are in Vancouver, a city which has a lot of rain and especially in the winter time it rains almost every day. So, what do you do in Vancouver on a rainy day? We decided to go to the Bloedel Floral Conservatory. The glas bubble has a variety of tropical and desert plants and birds. It is warm and dry inside. 4 February 2013 at 13:58. Looooooooooove the first picture ;-).

The Year of the Snake. 2013 is the biggest holiday for the Chinese community: Chinese New Year. On Sunday, February 17, we visited the annual parade in Canada’s biggest Chinatown. Over 50.000 people filled the streets of Chinatown Vancouver to view the parade. Every part of Vancouver has its own lantern signs. Here you can see we are in Chinatown. The Millenium Gate marks the entrance to Chinatown. 2013 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar. Yes, they represented the police of Vancouver.

From Sea to Sea: White Rock

On Friday, the sun showed mercy and gave us a break from a daylong rain period. Is a 5 km² small city near the USA border. It is just a 40-minute-drive from our home. In the background you see the snow-covered Mount Baker, which is in the USA. No need to say why the city's name is White Rock. The rock is a remainder of the last ice age and weighs 486 tons. Also very popular in White Rock is the 2.5km long promenade along the beach and a 458 meter long pier where you can stoll and soak up the sun.

Zum einen in Revelstoke, BC und zum anderen in Pincher Creek, AB. Als erstes ging es nach Revelstoke. Wir hatten uns ein paar Tage extra frei genommen. Ich musste noch zum Ultraschall in Edmonton und die Fahrt sollte von Whitecourt auch 9 Stunden sein. Nachdem wir vollgefuttert waren sind wir dann wieder runter zur Talstation gelaufen.
