The proposed well would be drilled in one of the most scenic locations in the West, in a region renowned for its geological wonders, outstanding backcountry recreational opportunities and a rich tapestry of human history. The proposed well would result in the construction of a drill pad, sludge pit and several miles of road, all of which will scar the landscape for decades.

Abyss Cave and spring - Grand Canyon, Arizona. Click image for larger version ). Abyss Cave is one of my favorite places in the Canyon. Most of my favorite places in the Canyon seem to be water related: Clear Creek, Elves Chasm, Thunder River, Deer Creek. Go figure, eh? It is a desert after all.
