Si accendono i gemmati lumi della notte e, per le vie stellari, si lanciano in opposte direzioni i bolidi rombanti. Puntate ad est, dal suono ampio e squillante. Tonfi di bombe sulla città assediata.

Oggi una giornata piena di sole che subito ha asciugato la sabbia dall’umidità di questa notte. Le artiglierie, da ambo le parti, tirano. Dei proiettili fischiano sopra la mia testa. Alle sedici e venticinque stavo a guardare verso Tobruch dall’alto del ciglione. Sento degli aerei; sono nemici. Non abbiamo subito danni, solo due feriti leggeri e tre bombe non sono esplose.

Di un po’ di riposo avevo bisogno giacché oltre al lavoro di ieri, per costruire la mia buca, questa notte sono stato in giro per i capisaldi. Mi tiro le due grosse coperte fin sulla gola ed in fondo lascio fuori i piedi. Ma ora dormo in questa buca; questa volta, se me la rompono, vado la e rompo loro il muso. Link a questo post.
