Wednesday, February 4, 2009. A beautiful day in February. On Tuesday, Mikah and I spent some time with my mom enjoying the nice weather in their newly rennovated backyard. It was a beautiful day, and Mikah was quite photogenic. I took the opportunity to snap a few shots. She is now 10 1/2 months! I caught this shot as she tried to stand up, and then realized there was nothing for her to grab onto! She is pulling herself up onto everything now, but can't balance on her own yet. Having fun with grandma!

Monday, January 5, 2009. Ok, so I'm not sure if Mikah caught a cold or if the THREE top teeth coming in did her in,. But we had a sad, sick little girl for the past few days. It was her first time being sick,. And Jonathan's first time being thrown up on.twice. Bummer for him. Guess I got lucky on that one. My time will come. All that to say, I think teething really sucks. Why can't babies just be born with their teeth already anyway? I have been going through the same thing with Danyka! The San Diego Zoo.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Mikah loves to feed herself now.so much so, that she doesn't sit still very long for us to feed her like she used to. She still opens her mouth wide for food when we feed her, but she has grown tired of being fed. So, she is one happy baby when we give her something to hold and eat herself! Sunday, October 26, 2008. Mikah loves her food! A friend got her this cool gadget that makes it easier for her to suck on different foods. She sucked on this thing for more than 30 minutes and I had to keep refilling it with banana! Hey, I think it's great! It keeps her busy for quite awhile.and makes a mess, too. Thursday, July 31, 2008. This is an "older" picture - but one of my favorites! Well, let's try it and see what happens." So, we tried. She struggled for about 2-3 minutes and then latched on. For a good 5 minutes solid! Way to go, Scarlet! What amazes me is how determined she is to figure out and learn what she needs to do. Each task they give her, she does and does it well. I'm so proud! Then, she fell asleep very happy and very content. Happy One Year Anniversary. Here we are - One Year of Marriage!

I would start the conversation off with, "I'm ok now, Mom." This has always stressed my mom out, for some reason. On Wednesday, I had to call my mom yet again. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Crusie to Ensenada for Len's Birthday. Let's cruise to Ensenada. Len and I have never been on a cruise, so I decided to give it a try. And, yes, we took Scarlet! When we got on the boat in Long Beach, this was the view from our window - the Queen Mary! We boarded on Friday and woke up Saturday morning in Ensenada. Here, Scarlet is watching us come into port from our window. Do you see the Mexican flag in the background? She's an international traveler - with a passport!

Scarlet is now rolling over alot! She can roll from her tummy to her back, but that she's still not doing very much. So, she is still relatively stationary. We are enjoying it! Sunday, August 2, 2009. On Thursday, July 30 (for those keeping track, that was our 2nd Wedding Anniversary), we all went to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. We were exhausted from Sea World the previous day, but it was a much easier park to go through with than Sea World. There was alot of canopy shade and not a bad walk. Saturday, August 30, 2008. 5lbs 5.5 oz! Yesterday was pretty busy and successful. I first took her to the breastfeeding clinic (our first outing). They weighed her - 5lbs, 2 oz. I was so thrilled! I then breastfed her and they weighed her again. She had taken 75 ccs, which translates into 2 and a half ounces. Wow! This is more than we give her by the bottle! CJ was very excited to get out and tackle the snow we got. However, there wasn’t too much. Mostly ice and a 1/2 in dusting of fine snow. Thus, Pogo-ing was his first choice in winter activity.
