DaM in Al Khor: April 2012
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Saturday, April 28, 2012. It was another fun week at the zoo. Next weekend we get to spend it testing applicant students for next year – a little hypocrisy involved. My fearless (rather worthless) leader stated back in November that they would need to fail half of the 4. Grades this year to get the class size down to one 5. Grade applicants – guess they will have to get rid of a few more students if I accept them. Graders were within the range – just an Educated. I would think she would h...

DaM in Al Khor: Back with
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012/04/back-with.html
DaM in Al Khor. Saturday, April 21, 2012. Being silly at the museum. Mexican Food with friends. View from up high. Spargel was in season - Mmmm good! We’re back at the grind,. More of the same, but even better. We ate too much, drank just the right amount, laughed a lot, and simply relaxed. We traveled to the Lake of Constance and the Island of Flowers where we saw over a million tulips blooming. Stayed in a hotel that was built in 1723 and woke to fresh snow the next morning. No matter what was caught, ...

DaM in Al Khor: Finally Edition
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012/06/finally-edition.html
DaM in Al Khor. Saturday, June 23, 2012. This will be my last entry while standing on this rock called Qatar. We are holding our breath each day, waiting for the next shot across our bow. I’ve been called in twice and yelled at just to make sure I still know who is in charge. All I got from that was I still know who is crazy! I got told that I had no right to share grades with my students. Who’d of thought? However, only 5 more days of bi-polar education left. It will get to a point that we can’t g...

DaM in Al Khor: Less than 2 weeks to go!!!!
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012/06/less-than-2-weeks-to-go.html
DaM in Al Khor. Saturday, June 16, 2012. Less than 2 weeks to go! Fourteen more days and we can be free. We no longer have access to a car, so we are reliant on the good will of friends. I guess it is a good thing – I finally got my first speeding ticket on a trip to the store last week – it was a fair ticket, so I can’t really complain (other than the cost of $137.). Grades are done and reports are in – bad thing is that the kids know it. Shippers should be here on the 23. Here is a News Special about t...

DaM in Al Khor: September 2011
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Friday, September 23, 2011. End of the World. I thought I had better get this letter sent out quick since the end of the World will be here in two days. According to many of our students, the end is coming on September 26. 8221; Now what do you say to that? Can I ask the audience? Maybe call a friend? Our friends Harold and JoAnne finally made it back into the country Wednesday night. They have been stuck in Italy since September 4. 8211; we are going to be on Qatar Airways, at least we w...

DaM in Al Khor: February 2012
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Are we having fun yet? The elusive Tiger Tail Seahorse. Inside the "King Cruiser". The rare "Ghost" pipefish. Up with a smill. I forgot to tell you - we found Will and Penny Robinson (for those that remember :-). Was a well-needed amazing get away! So far, Phuket has made it into our top three favorite dive locations in the world. After over 30 years of Scuba, Missie finally got to see her first elusive sea horse – in fact two. After opening four different gate...

DaM in Al Khor: January 2012
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Well, the Job Fair in London is over and we were very satisfied with the results. We will keep our decisions out of this public forum to avoid additional problems at the school. We were traveling with another couple (Rob and Irina), also from the school looking for new positions. Getting off the plane, we happened upon a 35-year, third generation deaf Black Cab driver with a lisp. C while we were gone). What a great get away! We traveled in Black Cabs, the Tub...

DaM in Al Khor: May 2012
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Sit here, smile and wave. Just plain wrong how they are mounted. Next it was off to the Mall of Dubai and the Burj Khalifa. We wanted to get some good grub before seeing any more tourist attractions, so we headed to the Texas Roadhouse. ALL USDA beef and run by folks from the states that remember what customer service is all about. Had a great plate of ribs (beef. Lesson of the Week. They got it all, but it still ain’t the USA. Love you all,. Friday, May 18, 2012.

DaM in Al Khor: March 2012
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Well we (or should I say Missie) has made it half way through the last big hurtle of the year – Science Fair. The HOD for science and math has been in Canada for the past month caring for her husband that had bi-pass surgery, so Missie has been left to handle the whole thing. That would be fine if the HOD wasn’t still trying to control it from a far and everyone else here that thought they had a better way of doing it kept sabotaging her efforts. We have had rece...

DaM in Al Khor: August 2011
http://daminalkhor.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
DaM in Al Khor. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. The Beginning - Year 2. I can see some good friendship opportunities. Strangely enough, the school hired mostly men (middle aged) this year and for the most part, they seem to be well educated, professional, and express their opinions – they will probably be in as much trouble as me within a few weeks! My goal is to be as quiet and agreeable as possible (I said “goal”). As for the physical school, nothing has changed – nothing! Lesson of the Week. Love to all,.
