Life on the Mesa: August 2008
http://lifeonthemesa.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Life on the Mesa. Art and Life in the Land of Enchantment. Saturday, August 9, 2008. Tsankawi Ruins is about a 30 minute drive from our property. Here, you can visit the ancient cave dwellings, and hike the paths that have been worn into the rock. Tsankawi is near Los Alamos and White Rock. It's definitely worth the drive, too, and offers a good half-day hike once you arrive. Be sure to pay close attention to the rocks, and you'll see an excellent assortment of petroglyphs. Snow was a rarity during the t...

Life on the Mesa: August 2007
http://lifeonthemesa.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Life on the Mesa. Art and Life in the Land of Enchantment. Monday, August 6, 2007. It's All About the Process. Last month I got the opportunity to take a workshop with Clarence Cruz. He teaches at both UNM and at the Poeh Center (at the Pojoaque pueblo), though I took his Summer class at Ghost Ranch. It was great fun, because Clarence is a patient teacher and also a very nice person. And he has a great sense of humor. He kept us all in stitches the entire week. Rocks and clay soaking in water. And finall...

Life on the Mesa: April 2007
http://lifeonthemesa.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Life on the Mesa. Art and Life in the Land of Enchantment. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Two more weeks of school. Actually, one more week after tomorrow's class; and then finals. Yippee. My typical day recently: get up, go to school, come home, do homework, go to sleep. Yesterday morning I took the time to capture a typical, gorgeous sunrise. This is the view I see every morning from the kitchen window. You just gotta love this place. The last few rays of Sunshine were straining to seep through the clouds.

Life on the Mesa: May 2007

Life on the Mesa. Art and Life in the Land of Enchantment. Thursday, May 31, 2007. 2002 ceramic and clear glaze 7" x 7" x 4". In many parts of the world- Africa and Native America come to mind immediately- pottery made by women is considered sacred and mysterious. And it is hand built. When I work with clay, I feel that I'm part of a large, universal Sisterhood- a group that I'm both humbled, and honored, to be a part of. Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Watercolor and acrylic on paper. Sally Lancaster Art: Latest Commission
http://sallylancasterportraits.blogspot.com/2009/09/latest-commission.html
Monday, 14 September 2009. Here is my latest commission, a big 24x20" painting of three beautiful Cocker Spaniels, Stevie, Misty and Jimmy. I had totally underestimated how long this painting would take me, giving myself just 3 weeks and in the end it took me a month but their owner is very happy with the finished painting and even I'm quite happy with it! As an artist, you always tend to pick on your own work so if you're even vaguely happy with your painting, that's a good thing! I am a professional Po...
