Catherine's Corner

My short story is turning out to be not so short. I feel like I am writing a full length novel! It's difficult sometimes to keep at it; I definitely need to work on condensing parts of it. Wondering what it is exactly I'm writing about? And traits are already formed and developed. Blue is for Nightmares. Series by Laurie Faria Stolarz and was itching to write an intriguing, romantic mystery novel of my own. I did not get very far however- in fact I barely it past the first paragraph! It would be cool if ...

In my last post, I talked about finishing. And how I enjoyed parts where I could relate to Richard's feelings. Here is one passage from the book that really excited me:. Reading was like a drug, a dope. The novels created moods in which I lived for days." (Wright 250). This feeling, or mood, has occured within me every so often, and the feeling is truly exilerating. The first time I can recall it happening was during my eighth grade year at VVMS. My friend introduced me to the book. Twilight, New Moon,.

Stop Watching, Start Reading. Off the shelves, there will be millions of eager fans waiting to meet them for autographs. And book discussions. Stephenie Meyer for example, is one of my favorite authors and had no idea her novels would become as famous as they did. Now it seems she is always touring not only the country, but the world! Self-Explanitory Ramblings: Waterhouse ----> Austen

http://imirman.blogspot.com/2008/03/waterhouse-austen.html

Just some thoughts, poems, assignments, philosophical perspectives. don't get lost, enjoy! Saturday, March 15, 2008. Waterhouse - - Austen. I just encountered the paintings of John William Waterhouse. I absolutely love his style and I just don't understand why I haven't come upon him earlier! But it's pretty interesting because he is also from England, just like Jane Austen, who wrote Sense and Sensibility. Many of his pieces have to do with legends and myths, and lots of them are quite romantic.

Sunday, September 30, 2007. Well, I'm back again to amaze you with my insightful comments on my literary journey. I know it's exciting, but don't forget to breathe. Anyways, I have finally made significant headway in my outside reading book and will be talking about that in my second post later tonight. But first, I shall talk about meeting the author this week. I found it very interesting meeting the author of Until They Bring the Streetcars Back. Sunday, September 23, 2007. Like my original blog titles?

Sophie's Blog: January 2008

http://sophieb10.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 6, 2008. Well I haven't really been very good about blogging over winter break, but, in my defense, I've been very busy. Not only did I go on the band trip to Disney World over New Year's, but it was also KICKOFF yesterday! So now we know what the game is, and the crazy 6-week build season has begun! I would highly recommend it. But if you're in a hurry, feel free to skip to the last few minutes of the webcast and just watch the part about the actual game. Florida was also awesome!

Just some thoughts, poems, assignments, philosophical perspectives. don't get lost, enjoy! Saturday, September 29, 2007. Well, I finished Twilight. Still wouldn't say I'm addicted, hmm. The plot moved very well, and it was a real refreshing read. Somehow the whole Laurent/Victoria/James thing felt a little random in the end, since there was no character development for them before they actually appeared. But all in all, it was a good book. http://imirman.blogspot.com/2008/03/social-politics.html

Just some thoughts, poems, assignments, philosophical perspectives. don't get lost, enjoy! Saturday, March 8, 2008. In Sense and Sensibility, Elinor is a really admirable girl. I guess you could call her a model person, embodying many good traits. However, this remarkable toleration does bring good to Elinor when she finds out about Lucy Steele's secret involving her beloved Edward Ferrars. *gasp*. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Her mind did become settled, but it was settled in a gloomy dejection. She felt the loss of Willoughby's character yet more heavily than she had felt the loss of his heart; his seduction and desertion of Miss Williams, the misery of that poor girl, and the doubt of what his designs might. Catherine Corman: Home

Catherine Corman's Virgin Queen is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I. Focusing on her interior life, it traverses her tragic love affairs and her fraught relationship with Mary, Queen of Scots, the cousin she never met. These pages illustrate her moments of defeat, her defiance, her strategies, her secrets, and her deathbed scene. Catherine Corman gives us an admirable companion in prose poems and photographs to one of England’s greatest monarchs.
