Spying sheep on the steep. January 6, 2016. Two Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep ewes sit atop a rocky outcropping adjacent Castle Mountain in Estes Park, Colo., on Jan. 6, 2016. As my dad made his way down windy Trail Ridge Road, he spotted a bighorn sheep silhouetted against the sky about 100 feet above us. We pulled over, grabbed our gear, and backtracked up the road for a better view. Ewes and rams usually only meet during the fall mating season, according to a National Geographic article. A taste of Colorado winter in 12 pictures. December 28, 2016. The day after Christmas, my family sat in our living room and brainstormed ideas of how to spend the rest of the holiday break. A day trip to Steamboat was proposed and, around 7:35 am this morning, we rolled out of Golden, Colo., and headed westbound on I-70. Halfway between Silverthorne and Kremmling, the skies cleared and we were greeted by a stunning view of Green Mountain Reservoir and even some brave ice fishermen in a red Eskimo tent.

Learning how to ‘Crop until it hurts’. March 22, 2015. I sat in the northeast corner of rural Nebraska in 2012 eating a shrimp salad and listening to Charles Snare, Chadron State College’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, talk about leadership. 8220;You know, it takes 10 years to become an expert on a topic? 8221; he said during the conversation. I think he was right. Has forced me to reevaluate how and why I crop. 8220;Crop until it hurts and then crop some more,” my friend Tim Tai. Back to the bus&#...

Downtown hub in transition after Shakespeare’s Pizza demolished. June 18, 2015. Page 1A and Page 4A of the Columbia Missourian highlight the destruction of the downtown Shakespeare’s Pizza location. Shakespeare’s Pizza was more than a restaurant. It was a drinking buddy to some. A college hangout for others. An escape from the bland and mass produced workflows that so many other restaurants adopt. Emotions ran high when a clawed, yellow excavator tore into the brick walls on June 17, 2015. Said Multiple ...

December 23, 2014. It looks like we’re in for another snowy Colorado Christmas. I flew from Kansas City to Denver on Sunday. It was just raining then. Monday, the snow hit while we were having lunch with my sister for her birthday. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be clear skies in the 30s, but on Thursday, Christmas day, we’re supposed to have temps in the 40s and more snow that evening. Let the cold get to you. February 16, 2015. A man walks down Ninth Street amid blowing snow on Sunday. Columbia could see from six to 10 inches of accumulation by Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Metadata: f/4.5; 1/250; ISO 25,600; 124mm focal length. Despite this setback, I still went out, after donning a ridiculous number of jackets and making sure my only exposed flesh was a small patch for my eyes. Blowing snow swirls around a lantern attached to the front of Memorial Union on Sunday.

Since my last post on May 22, 2015, I’ve published 42 images. They’ve all been on Instagram. I expressed my frustration to a friend as we talked on the phone earlier this evening. March 7, 2015.
