Garden Hoes: August 2008
http://centraltexasgardenhoes.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. With temps still a wee bit too hot to have been getting out for big projects, we did recently get together for a little planning meeting at my house. Of course, we spent most of the time eating yummy munchies, drinking some delish wines, and discussing music and movies (including who we thought were hot movie stars.hey, we're girls.what do you expect? We did, however, get some business taken care of. Friday, August 22, 2008. I recently took a trip to Key West with an old frien...
Garden Hoes: January 2009
http://centraltexasgardenhoes.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. Knowing what veggie you want to grow is only the beginning. There are SO many varieties of each veggie it is a little overwhelming trying to determine which will be best to grow. The choices are even greater when one wants to try some new things. I'm in hog heaven and going bonkers at the same time trying to determine which species of various veggies I want to try and grow this year. Thursday, January 15, 2009. C We'll take the spring growing season to possibly recruit a few mor...
Garden Hoes: October 2008
http://centraltexasgardenhoes.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. I hate this weather. Okay, I know I said I like this weather, but last night it was 20 DEGREES COLDER THAN NORMAL so ALL my tomatoes, cucumbers, tomatillos, and peppers are mushy black crud. (My canteloupe are mush too, but that's okay seeing as they were a "volunteer" crop anyway.) Even a few of my perennials got a little frosted (like me right now). Why didn't I cover them? Lots of other stuff in the works, but I can't remember it all right now. Sunday, October 5, 2008.
Garden Hoes: Weekend Weeding
http://centraltexasgardenhoes.blogspot.com/2009/03/weekend-weeding.html
Sunday, March 1, 2009. One thing I did screw up while weed-popping. I planted fall asters for the first time last fall during my garden hoe project. Today, I was weeding the bed the fall asters are in and saw plant growth near the base of all the aster plants that didn't look like fall aster. If you remember from an earlier post, here is what the fall aster looks like:. Then I looked up fall asters again and this is what I found on new growth: I had been pulling the new growth the entire time! We are a g...
Garden Hoes: December 2008
http://centraltexasgardenhoes.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 15, 2008. Sharing with the Hoes vs. Others. As much as I have been enjoying a plant/seed swap group to which I belong, nothing compares to getting plants/seeds from my fellow Garden Hoes. Compare that experience to ANY I've had with my fellow garden hoes. I steal. I mean, I gently and with permission (LOL.that one time meant all the time, right? I can't wait to see what they pop up as. Friday, December 5, 2008. Winter is finally upon us. So, in this introspective mood, I wanted to presen...

Thursday, December 31, 2009. All my seed catalogs, that is. Happy, happy, joy, joy! Pajama Day at the Library! Just when I thought the kids couldn't get more excited about our weekly visit to the library for story time, the library hosts Pajama Day! The kids have been squealing with glee over the fact that they are going to wear their pajamas to the library. I don't know why, but that cracks me up! We love story time with Miss Jane. Trowel & Error: Blast from the Past ...Like It Was Yesterday
http://trowelanderror.blogspot.com/2010/11/blast-from-past-like-it-was-yesterday.html
Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Blast from the Past .Like It Was Yesterday. There are some people who even if you've not spoken with them in 12-ish years, the minute you say hello again it was like you were just together chatting last week. So was the case with a dear old friend, Jeri Ann. We quickly caught up on the big picture topics and next thing you know we were laughing over old memories (older than I'd like to admit.dang time flies) "COBWEBS! November 5, 2010 at 5:56 PM. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Kids First Cavity and Other Toothy Adventures. Again, we'll keep watch on the progression of these growing mouths. Our 5yo daughter asked her daddy if fairies were real. He responded with, "What do YOU think? After pondering for a bit she replied, "Well, tooth fairies are real so that means that all fairies are real.". Can't argue with her logic on that one. Friday, February 26, 2010. Tramatic Day at the Doc's. Hadley: I don't ever want to go to that place AGAIN! Today was Hadley and Ryan's "well kid" check-ups at the doctor. Both are doing great, I'm very happy to report. Hadley continues to be off the charts on her height. Ryan is right at about 50-75% percentile on his growth. As a "you survived shots" treat, we went to have lunch at Chick-Fil-A. That seemed to make everything better. The GOOD news is that they now have all their shots so Hadley w...After...

http://trowelanderror.blogspot.com/2010/08/working-on-weekend.html
Saturday, August 7, 2010. Working on the Weekend. Not only have I been busting butt during the work week, often bringing home work at the end of the day, but I'm so swamped that I've sadly found myself plugging away on the weekends. I've gotta get a handle on things before my family forgets who I am and I go made from lack of downtime. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Central Texas Plant Exchange. Friday, March 27, 2009. So, spring is here, and it's grand! Every morning I walk outside just to see what has peeked its head above the dirt. So far, I'm pretty happy with the way things have overwintered, although I may have (once again) lost my plumbago. That's okay though - I'll just buy more and treat them as an annual. I also haven't seen hide nor hair of my whirling guara, but it's still early. I'll try and post some pictures soon. I am so happy that spring is here! Sunday, March 1, 2009. We plan t...
