Shishigatani Squash Challenge: Part II | Beadchaser

https://beadchaser.wordpress.com/2013/01/07/shishigatani-squash-challenge-part-ii

Shishigatani Squash Challenge: Part II. View from underneath- it looks bizarre, tree-like. I know that you’re supposed to totally eliminate undercuts. This shape has more curves than… well, than a normal winter squash. I decided to tackle the bottom first. I blocked it off with clay so only the bottom would be cast. Here are some images of the blocking before I put it in the wooden frame (cottles):. Blocked in, and ready to put up the cottles. I overestimated the amount of plaster I’d need to fill ...

Quick, Cheap and Clever: Ornament Earrings. Quick, Cheap and Clever: Ornament Earrings. These earrings are some of the easiest things you can make to brighten up your holiday wardrobe. December 24th I wandered through KMart in a post-work stupor looking for last-minute gifts, and I saw some small lightbulb ornaments. They were on sale for 50% off! Tools: One or two pairs of small pliers. Attach the small ornament to the earring wire. You’re done! A collection of the various earrings I made from ornaments.

Woven Texture Bat | Beadchaser

https://beadchaser.wordpress.com/2013/02/14/woven-texture-bat

Texture bats can be repeatedly used to make consistent textures in clay. You make the texture, pour plaster on it and then when it hardens, you can press clay into it and get the same texture. I wove modeling clay into an interesting texture. I want to make some boxes that have the “woven” look. Here’s the picture of the clay, before it’s been made into a bat. Clay for plaster bat. Small Cat Button Bag | Beadchaser

https://beadchaser.wordpress.com/2013/01/19/small-cat-button-bag

Small Cat Button Bag. Felted wool bag with a hand-painted cat button. A knit woolen scarf was accidentally washed. Oops. It turned into a piece of felt with some holes in it. I recycled it into a bag. I didn’t use all of it, so there’s more to use for whatever seems to need it. I cut two pieces of unequal length. They’re blanket-stitched together. Beads were added, and the button was sewn on. I made a loop, and made square knots around it for the closure. Here’s the back:. Got something to share? Follow ...

Squash Challenge | Beadchaser

https://beadchaser.wordpress.com/2013/01/07/129

A Japanese winter squash is destined to become a teapot. Doing plaster work right now, making molds so I can do slip casting. There’s a teapot in the works, made several hump molds, and then my husband hit me with a challenge: mold this Japanese Winter Squash. Well, I wanted to use it to make a teapot anyway, and I’ve got a smaller winter melon that I can use to make matching creamers etc…. Got something to share? Enter your comment here. Multicolored Felted Coinpurse Part III: The End. This is the coinpurse I made for a friend. It’s felted wool embellished with gold-lined seed beads. I covered wooden beads to make buttons that matched it. Sorry this took so long to get out, my crafting area revision challenged me more than I thought it would. Finishing off your coin purse-. Wreath made from rosemary branches and craft wire. On that special day, the day of celebration, I always get cool ideas for things. Before the special day, nada. Unfortunately, that leaves a prep time of zero. I came up with some really cool ideas on the fly to celebrate midsummer aka Litha. Light a fire with the sun by using a magnifying glass.
