My dad and his girlfriend, Virginia, came in town this weekend to help celebrate my niece Ella's 5th birthday. We took BooMark and Ginga to Johnson Farms to check out the pumpkin patch in the morning and then went over to my sister's house for Ella's Pixies and Pirate-themed birthday party. I haven't been able to post lately because I've been too busy judging Ainsley's dance moves, playing freeze tag, taking pictures of "me, mom" or gluing something back together that Max has broken. Ainsley has really perfected her dance moves and definitely rivals Max in this department:. July 11, 2014. Then came the move to Seattle 6 short months after we got married. We are so thankful and blessed to have Ben's extended family out here to lean on. February 17, 2014. Ben's been away for a week now and staying busy helps the time go a little faster. Elizabeth, Paisley and I had a fun girls' night on Valentine's Day full of pizza, sparkling cider, brownies and all the gushy, girly movies we could handle. I decided to practice for painting the nursery with a smaller project of painting my bathroom to work out any kinks that may come up. Not perfect but I'm pretty pleased! Next up, Ben's bathroom : ). May 22, 2015. In search of an easy way to return to blogging, I remembered about Five Minute Friday. So here we go-the word is rise. Immediately I think of the new schedule I've been adjusting to since I went back to work in January. Rise to me means 4:00 am alarm clocks, sleep-deprived pumping session and getting ready while Ben and Carson snooze. Leaving for work at 6:00 am takes a lot of planning and self-motivation. Not things I always exemplify. But it's been good to have a structure. Life: à la mode.

November 2, 2013. Fall in the PNW. We've spent the past couple of weeks enjoying the beautiful fall in Seattle, getting out with Della and a fun weekend in the city for my birthday. Ben planned a weekend in Seattle for my birthday this year. We took the train into the city, got a room at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. For this pregnancy, we wanted to find out the gender before baby arrived and share the news with family and friends.
