Devilman is a classic of Japanese animation, so it was only a matter of time before it was made into a live action film. However upon its release way back in late 2004 the reviews were rather poor. 2 years later it has finally made it onto Hong Kong DVD, so Arthur has. Decided to check it out. Surely a film featuring battles between demons and gratuitous blood, guts and gore couldn`t be that bad? Unfortunately the short answer is yes, it really is that bad. Well, the DVD comes in a nice slipcase (Hooray!

They have stuff that has no western equivalent alongside more familiar items in flavours you just wouldn’t get anywhere else (Green tea Kit-Kat anyone? And then there are the items that are the same as western snacks in the same kinds of flavours but that just taste so much nicer. Plus the packing often contains funny Engrish quotes or bizarre cartoon characters.
