Trimming the doors was fun and satisfying, and bit by bit, I'll get the rest of the windows as time and seasons permit. Mountain Blue Birds Come Calling. They have good taste in homes, I must say, but the place isn't for sale - or rent. Anyway, Second Cup with Bill was the best part of my whole day, and worth getting up at 0300 for. News? I have a radar observer renewal class in Seattle tomorrow, and I'm loo...

Volume Four Number Three. 2 pages, 1,131 words. I think I’m going to get rid of my tools. I don’t even want the option of being able to ever use them again. The saws I’ll keep, and my hammer and screw gun, I suppose. But my wrenches, every last one of them, I’m going to pitch them into the lake and cackle with delight like a madman. I changed the starter in my Isuzu the other night. . . and morning. Two bolts, two electrical connections, that’s all there is to it. Simple, right? I still could not make th...

I'm a Tug Boat Deckhand! Has it really been that long since I've posted? But then I've made no claims to be posting soon, either, have I? A turkey hen has visited me a few times at the cabin, Lindsay. . . ). So, I have a job again, as hard as that might be to imagine. I'm working as a deckhand on the tug boat Millennium Star. Click on the link for pictures:. Http:/ www.harleymarine.com/gallery/tugs/t-otb/milstar/milstar1.html. That sums up for now. I think my next post is likely to be about the trip ...

Volume Four Number One. 1 page, 566 words -. Normally I would begin by saying, "You're never going to believe this! I know that you will believe it, however. I am the one struggling to believe! It was with great consternation, then, that I learned the neighbor down the road from me would not be coming back to his property for the rest of the winter. We share the snow plow bill, and without his assistance, my cost would double! As I thought it through, however, I knew that God. I have been seeking various...

Guatemala Compassion Sponsor Tour. Juan Carlos and I have written many letters back and forth. He usually includes a drawing with his letters; he draws chickens and soccer balls. He draws his house too, and mountains in the background. I have sent him pictures of myself and of my job on the tug boats. We pray for each other, and for each others' family. I wished that wasn't an issue for him, but I couldn't figure out why we were not better buddies through our letters. His letters make sense! The lunch ta...

My Pastor - Missionary to Peru! My Pastor has a blog! Http:/ peruzings.wordpress.com/. Scott Hargrove has pastored the Chelan Church of the Nazarene for 20 years and he and his family are being called by God to minister to the girls of the Torre Fuerte Home for Girls in Arequipa, Peru. (That's where we went with the youth for our missions trip in June.) The family is selling everything and giving themselves to the poor. He tells about it in his own words on his new blog. Volume Four Number Five. 325 words, 1 page-. Internal debate, but those thoughts, internally directed as they are, look in the wrong direction. Instead I should remind myself of the One who empowers the preacher and calls whom He will. Here am I, send me. Please pray for me as I prepare this message and as I deliver it. Pray also for those who listen. My hope is that I'll speak the words God wants said, and the listeners will hear the words God wants heard. May God be glorified! 31 March 2008- -. The que...

I'm finally getting electricity! Dad had the wind turbine since 1982, but we didn't have a tall enough tower to get the unit above the trees. Modern turbine designs are more efficient, but I couldn't beat the price. It's so satisfying to know I'm getting power when the wind blows! I get a real big smile when I hear the blades lug down, because that means the field circuit has been energized and that's when it's making power. Woo whoo! And maybe even a microwave! Oh, and did you notice the mantel? A life ...
