The Smitty Gritty: Christmas Morning 2014
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/christmas-morning-2014.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Being 5 years old, Cooper was the perfect age to enjoy the magic of Christmas morning. He woke up bright-eyed and ready, and couldn't WAIT to go to Poppy's house. It wasn't terribly early, at least, but Hudson had to be woken up early. He takes after his mommy, and is not much of a morning person, even when he does get enough sleep. When he gets woken up early- forget it. So.the day was already off to a "great" start with a crabby toddler. What did you get, Coop? And a toy vacuum!

The Smitty Gritty: Dance in a Flash Mob...Check!
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/dance-in-flash-mobcheck.html
Saturday, June 6, 2015. Dance in a Flash Mob.Check! We danced to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" in the parking lot near the place where participants of Avon's two-day breast cancer awareness walk/run in uptown Charlotte were stopping to eat lunch. I invited my friend, Krista Carpenter, a former co-worker from my PBS&J/Atkins days, to join us. Unbeknownst to me, my friends April Moore and Natalie Gleaves from the Monroe ward were participating also. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Backyard Wr...

The Smitty Gritty: Fall Camping at Cane Creek - Oct. 2014
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/fall-camping-at-cane-creek-oct-2014.html
Friday, June 5, 2015. Fall Camping at Cane Creek - Oct. 2014. Summers here are too hot, and have too many bugs to enjoy camping. So we get to go camping in the spring and fall. There's a place called Cane Creek that's great to camp with kids that's not far from our house. Cooper and Nate slept the night there in a tent, while Hudson and I just went for the evening until bedtime. If it involves hitting a ball, Hudson is all about it. If it involves fire, Cooper is all about it. The sunset was beautiful.

Thursday, September 11, 2014. Parade, Swimming, and Fireworks. I forgot to mention a few things from my last post. There was a day of relaxation that week when Nate and Coop went fishing in the morning. I went shopping and to lunch with my Mom, and Camyll did my hair. When the ditch was running, Cooper and Calvin decided to see whether Cooper's new battery-operated remote control truck from Grammie would float or sink. Kids! Coop with his wet hair to cool off, waiting for some more candy-throwing paraders.

The Smitty Gritty: Hunter Family Farm (Pumpkin Patch)
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/hunter-family-farm-pumpkin-patch.html
Thursday, June 4, 2015. Hunter Family Farm (Pumpkin Patch). Before Halloween we had a chance to visit a local pumpkin patch with Aunt Denise and Lindsay (who was visiting from NYC). I had to tease her as we got out of the car, that her choice of footwear (black flats) was not farm friendly. City dwellers! Cooper was good about helping Hudson through the child-size hay bale maze. The wagon ride was dusty, but fun. His favorite was by far the bunny, which he was mad he couldn't touch. Teaching Mom to Blog.

The Smitty Gritty: Adventures of Coop Scoop at Five Years Old
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/adventures-of-coop-scoop-at-five-years.html
Saturday, June 6, 2015. Adventures of Coop Scoop at Five Years Old. Cooper is quite the kid. No matter what he's doing, he's doing it 100%, whether it's playing in the mud, doing chores, throwing a fit, trying to figure out how something works, or being his crazy/silly self. He lives in the moment with his whole heart. That boy can push my buttons and melt my heart all in one day. One day Coop called, "Mom, come here for a second! It totally worked, and he giggled and giggled. Cooper is often trying to b...

The Smitty Gritty: Halloween 2014
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/halloween-2014.html
Thursday, June 4, 2015. With a long hiatus from blogging, I have decided I'd better catch up before I'm an entire year behind (yikes! Back to your regularly scheduled programs.". A few weeks before Halloween, Cooper was sure to remind me that we needed to get the house decorated. We have quite a few decorations, thanks to Aunt Denise, but we'll spare you from having to "tour" all of them, and just share a picture of the boys' favorite- the glowing plug-in jack-o-lantern. Don't mess with these guys! No fa...

The Smitty Gritty: Christmas at the Aquarium with Poppy
http://thesmittygritty.blogspot.com/2015/06/christmas-at-aquarium-with-poppy.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Christmas at the Aquarium with Poppy. We went to Salter Path/ the Outer Banks for Christmas, to be with Nate's family. There's a great little aquarium not far from Nate's dad's house, and during our winter visits, it's a must-do. It just so happened that Santa Claus was there feeding the fish in the big tank that day. Petting the sting rays is Cooper's favorite part of the aquarium. Poppy helped our wiggly Hudson get in on the action too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
