Sarahcha: The Grocery Store
http://www.sarahcha.com/2014/07/the-grocery-store.html
Saturday, July 26, 2014. Buckle up folks, this ain't nothing like your neighborhood Albertson's. In America, the largest section of the grocery store is the middle of the store, where aisle after aisle of pasta, cereal, snacks, soda, and baking stuffs can be found. In China, however, the largest section of the store is completely dedicated to produce and meats. We passed by a Carrefour at Zhongshan Park and decided we wanted a snack yesterday, and I thought these would be some interesting pictures to post.

Sarahcha: June 2014
http://www.sarahcha.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. I can feel it already," Jason said. "We are going to learn so much more Mandarin here than we did in the two years we spent studying.". That was when the excitement hit me. I was waiting for it all this time; it was really happening. I kept thinking 'Oh wow, this is really going down, and how on earth did the Gilman Scholarship people think me, of all the people out there, was ready for this? Then they give you a 10¥ discount. And rudimentarily explain my issue. After a trip to ...

Sarahcha: Two Weeks and Counting...
http://www.sarahcha.com/2014/05/one-month-and-counting.html
Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Two Weeks and Counting. Ready, Set, Not Quite Go. I am very lucky to have a view of Mt Hood on my drive home. When it is sunny, it definitely takes the edge off of rush hour traffic and reminds me of how great living in Portland, Oregon is. Lately, though, all I can think about is the fact that in two weeks, I'm not going to see this mountain for two whole months! I'm one of those planning types; a worrywart, or whatever else you call it. I've already planned what I will be tak...

Sarahcha: Project 2: Outside Lies Magic
http://www.sarahcha.com/2015/05/project-2-outside-lies-magic.html
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Project 2: Outside Lies Magic. I selected my space mostly because of convenience; the day I wanted to visit my originally intended space got interrupted by a work call. It stood out to me because it was raining and if my garage wasn't so full of random boxes, I could park there! I elected to omit the ladder, but in hindsight I could have had a lot of fun with using the ladder shape to create some more chaos and interesting shapes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Buckle up fol...

Sarahcha: About Me
http://www.sarahcha.com/2014/05/about-me.html
Monday, May 19, 2014. I think this is where I say hello. Wait, I'm not the best at these things and I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's back up a bit. My name is Sarah. I'm a 26 year-old-female. I love food, all kinds of food, spicy, savory, classic, and unusual; in other words, I'm a self-proclaimed foodie. I speak a little Mandarin Chinese, and I'm a novice photographer, meaning I take tons of pictures on my cell phone. Did I mention I have a Shiba Inu that I am obsessed with? Two Weeks and Counting.

Sarahcha: Do What You Gotta Do
http://www.sarahcha.com/2014/08/do-what-you-gotta-do.html
Friday, August 8, 2014. Do What You Gotta Do. Warning, This may be a tad shocking for some of you. We always end up watching people run here because it is unlike anything we've ever seen. Typically when I see people jogging, they do so with a steady pace, arms bent, and fists steadily swinging. Here however, everyone has their own sort of style. After being here for a while and adjusting to this place, I've concluded that China's main motto is "Do what you need to do." As long as it doesn't get anyon...
