Dipping Pot - Chennai Foody
http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2015/05/dipping-pot.html
In 2008, I was talking to a friend who wanted to set up Teppayaki. But was disappointed with the Chennai market. He said it will take Chennai a very long time before Chennaites. Embrace new concepts. I think that 'long time' has arrived! Either new age restauranteurs are taking risks and pushing new concepts or people are open. OK, who cares if the egg came first or chicken came first! We have both now! So, fondue has arrived in Chennai! I loved the things you get to dip in the cheese. Unlike the cla...
Citibank Restaurant Week, Hip Asia! - Chennai Foody
http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2015/04/citibank-restaurant-week-hip-asia.html
Citibank Restaurant Week, Hip Asia! Citibank's Restaurant Week, that has been doing the rounds for the past few years in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, finally lands in Chennai! I guess, it required Chennai making it to four international publications as the Best City to live in, Best city in the world, Best city in the universe etc etc, before Citibank saw it. We Chennaites, of course knew it, long back. Its okay. The world has found out only now! Citibank Restaurant Week, Hip Asia! Follow Me on BLOGARAMA.
Wild Amazon - Chennai Foody
http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2010/10/wild-amazon.html
The new theme restaurant by the Mouthful Group is open to public! We ordered one Raan (whole Lamb Leg) cooked in Moroccan style, one Afghani chicken, one baby corn fry, one crispy corn and some desserts! The Afghani chicken was probably the best dish of the lot, it was soft, well marinated and well cooked with some superb flavor! Wild Amazon is located just beyond Citi Center, towards the beach! Sonargaon Festival at Beyond Indus, Taj Clubhouse - Chennai Foody
http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2015/05/sonargaon-festival-at-beyond-indus-taj.html
Sonargaon Festival at Beyond Indus, Taj Clubhouse. No offence, but that is all I thought of when five of us met, by invite, at Beyond Indus, Taj Clubhouse to taste their Sonargaon Festival! Though it was supposed to be Zamindari. Cuisine, the Bengal part of it was quite emphasised and me not being a big fan of fish, I was a little worried. The evening turned out to be one that will be difficult to forget! Beyond Indus serves cuisine, from, well, duh, beyond the Indus! So I'll skip the name calling! The v...
Chef Vikram and Dessert Hopping, Part 2 - Chennai Foody
http://www.chennaifoodie.com/2014/05/chef-vikram-and-dessert-hopping-part-2.html
Chef Vikram and Dessert Hopping, Part 2. To dessert hop, wolfing down four of what we thought were the best desserts in Chennai's hotels. We narrowed it down to the Tiramisu @ Focaccia, Hyatt Regency, Chocolate cake @ Taj Mount Road, Miss Mini @ Pan Asian, ITC Grand Chola and finally Macarons @ EST, Hilton. We were well aware of the possible sweet overload, but decided to try it anyway. Disclaimer: Try it at your own risk. Why is Part 2 coming ahead of Part 1? Now, what happened that night? And he brough...

Contemplations and Ruminations: Hard to Love by Lee Brice

Saturday, August 11, 2012. Hard to Love by Lee Brice. Moving on to the next song that really shook me ' That's When you Know it's Over. I was blown away by this song. There are a lot of breakup songs out there, everybody has their own way of dealing with a breakup. Luke Bryan likes to make love one last time by telling her 'Rest your head on my bed and love me like you loved me when you loved me and didn't even have to try'. yeah, that's a line from his song Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye. Friends we won't forget.

Random thoughts: Happy Earth Day !
http://shals88.blogspot.com/2012/04/happy-earth-day.html
Sunday, 22 April 2012. Nature is beautiful and most the time I get to realize this when we are out on a hill holiday or a beach destination, but I am sure every place has a beauty and charm of its own. It's always good to use resources wisely and to the need, I just got this into me because of the frequent power shortages in the city and the almost day long power cuts across various towns in Tamil Nadu which I came to realise when I visited Trichy and Mayiladuthurai last month. Happy earth day Shalini.

Happened to watch this movie on Friday evening and it turned out to be a full time laughing session, what more can we expect when we have RJ Shiva and Santhanam. Its not a bit serious movie with a decent story line and loads of comedy, happened to be a super time pass film worth a watch :). Hey Shalu, I heard a similar review from my friend. Planning to watch def. :). 31 May 2012 at 11:40. Yes, that movie was quite a laugh fest. :D. Promote Your Page Too.

Friday, 28 December 2012. To the man who continues to inspire millions around the world. It is Ratan Tata's 75th birthday today and also the day when he will be retiring as the Chairman from the Tata Group. I don't remember since when but it was during my late teens that I got a chance to read about him and everything that I came to know about him only inspired me more and it still continues :). To the man who has inspired me to pursue my passion, Wish you wonderful 75th birthday and many more to come!

The Dhabba Express, EA Mall. Me and mom were famished after watching an evening show movie. So we paid the food court at EA a rare visit. We were in the mood for some Punjabi Khaana so we ordered from The Dhabba Express. The service was quick, the plates were clean. The food looked like standard food court fare, but the taste was mind blowing. Well, it delivered! December 6, 2014. Una Mas, Nungambakkam. For everyone who has eaten at a QDoba or a Chipotle, have some cheer my friends! We were driving from ...

Chennai Foody
Thursday, April 30, 2009. Every time we host a client visit, we always end the itinerary with a team lunch at the Madras Cricket Club. My boss, whom I absolutely adore and is completely clueless of my regard for him, seems to collect club memberships in every city. In Chennai, he hops between the Presidency, the Madras Club, Gymkhana, some weird golf course in Guindy and the Madras Cricket Club! There goes 5 years of my salary just in club memberships! I promise, I am getting to the food, just as soon as...
