http://earfullofpumpkin.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Ear Full of Pumpkin. Thursday, January 31, 2013. Part One: Love Is Patient. Valentine’s Day is a mere two weeks away, and if you hang out long enough in the card section of WalMart, you can see the panic starting to set in. Beads of sweat line the foreheads of lanky teenage boys and rosy cheeked girls, stand wide eyed with their hands full of sentimental options. I just can’t muster up too much excitement about Valentine’s day anymore. It lost its appeal somewhere along the journey. Knowing few details&#...

http://earfullofpumpkin.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Ear Full of Pumpkin. Wednesday, November 28, 2012. A Warning: Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread. I had a big day planned. You know the type where you feel important and busy and like you've got a handle on everything. I dressed in my finest "I own life" outfit, spent a little more time than usual on my hair and makeup, redid my neglected nail polish, gathered the days needs and headed out to my car.only to turn the ignition and hear the tell-tell click of a dead car. Oh that's a fluke," I say. I own life. 2-2 1/...

http://earfullofpumpkin.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Ear Full of Pumpkin. Monday, October 14, 2013. Fancy Pants: Mushroom Soup. When I was 12 or 13 years old, my mother signed me up for an etiquette class at the Dillard's department store. For four Saturday’s in a row, myself and three other young teenage girls gathered in a small back office to learn how to cross our ankles when sitting in a chair and how to properly introduce ourselves when greeting an adult. I kid you not. They taught us to curtsy. I muddled through. Had a hard time caring much. It's pr...

Ear Full of Pumpkin. Monday, July 30, 2012. The Athlete: In Training. Every now and then, my Mother will get it in her head, that she'd like to compete in some sort of sporting event. and believing me to be an athlete, she will often drag me along. A few days ago, she announced that she'd like to do a "team triathlon" with my Aunt, who would round out our trusty trio. Mom: Do you want to run or bike? Me: I really like to sit. I'm choosing the bike. Mom: Do you know how long each leg is? Well, do you?

Ear Full of Pumpkin: Advent: Waiting
http://earfullofpumpkin.blogspot.com/2013/12/advent-waiting.html
Ear Full of Pumpkin. Monday, December 9, 2013. There are seasons when Christmas comes swooping in.bringing with it, goodwill and cookies in the oven and rushed preparations for special worship services and goofy photos of big dogs in little holiday hats. And then there are seasons when Christmas comes trodding in.bringing with it hesitation and a bit of heaviness and unfinished projects and when by the 9th, we feel lucky to have ornaments on the tree because we're too tired to do much else.
