Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Monday, May 18, 2015. This Victoria Day is better than the last. It was a relief tonight to just enjoy them. Fireworks at our park. May 19, 2015 at 12:52 PM. So sorry to hear Joanne got infected from the bite. Must be painful! After all she does to rescue these kittens, she doesnt deserve this! May 19, 2015 at 3:53 PM. Ooooowww cute cats its getting sleep :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DONATE THROUGH PAYPAL TO HELP THE CATS! And then you stop.
Cherry Street Cats: November 2014
http://cherrystreetcats.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Just a Saturday update. Here are a couple of pics from a colony I've started feeding recently near where I park my car to go to work. A couple of the cats live in the rooming house and some more live outside it. That's three colonies of cats that I now feed on a regular basis. I have some great adoption news to report. Both Larry and Lake have been adopted! Tuesday, November 25, 2014. 50 years and 500 cats. Homes needed and hom...
Cherry Street Cats: Six years!!
http://cherrystreetcats.blogspot.com/2015/05/six-years.html
Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Saturday, May 2, 2015. Of the two cats I trapped this week, one was pregnant and the other orange boy is tameable so that's good news. Princess has been spayed and will soon return home. The kittens have moved up to Raven's bathroom. I visited last night and watched the black one play with his very first toy. I hope they lead wonderful long lives as beloved pets. She has joined the outside gang there and clearly is very happy. Some other friends and I ...
Cherry Street Cats: December 2014
http://cherrystreetcats.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014 year in review. Every new year's I like to do a little year end in review, and 2014 was certainly not lacking in stuff going on. With the colony, all spayed and neutered and aging, most of the news is sad. Every day when I see my ferals and they look healthy I'm happy but every year we lose a few and 2014 was no exception. And tragically one of the newer cats, Audrey, was killed by a dog in the spring. One of my favourite...
Cherry Street Cats: May 2015
http://cherrystreetcats.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Friday, May 29, 2015. Sadly I am still pretty much immobile, relying on bedrest and prescription meds to hopefully help me heal up soon. Poor Steve is left to keep the house running as well as taking care of me, I can't even dress myself. Aren't those fantastic names? I can't take credit for them, Raven came up with them. Bella and Twix are also kittens I rescued that are on the Annex site. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. And then you stop. Saturday, May 23, 2015.

out of my head: January 2014
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Saturday, January 18, 2014. Not sure how or what to write. I have two weeks left of work on the thing. Yet I can't seem to hunker down with it. I had one of the best teaching experiences at the college level in a long time as well. My groups were rowdy and funny and engaged and curious. They were frustrated by the difficulty of the course. But that's always to be expected (the soft bigotry of low expectations). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Not sure how or what to write. Student in her mid-...
out of my head: August 2011
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Monday, August 15, 2011. It's the little things. Literally. We have a functional house by all intents and purposes. But we still need to finish the little things. The list is long and my patience and time seem to be running short. Little things that take forever. Took a nice vacation at Martha's Vineyard. This vacation consisted mostly of sitting on the porch and reading Bossypants. And Endgame: The Problem of Civilization:. Two great tastes that taste great together. Efforts are not enou...
out of my head: My biggest fear
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2011/04/my-biggest-fear.html
Out of my head. Sunday, April 10, 2011. I am really excited to move back to Baltimore. There are three things I'll really really miss in Toronto:. 1 My friends (but that doesn't mean I live in a community and that's a biggie for me). 2 My yoga studio. I mean that with everything in me. I'm really gonna miss that place. 3 My health insurance. THIS IS HUGE. I think socialism is kind of awesome, by the way. April 12, 2011 at 2:27 PM. out of my head: July 2011
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Friday, July 1, 2011. Like pieces of garbage. A few weeks ago, I was biking down Falls Road. I'm using the "bike lanes" these days which brings me right next to Baltimore Bicycle Works. More on the commitment of maintaining a feral colony in another post. Moral of the story: I just cannot fathom the way people treat animals. I am aware that I'm probably a bit overly sentimental about it. But it simply breaks my heart to see that kind of suffering. out of my head: November 2012
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Friday, November 9, 2012. I feel like I'm really done being a desk jockey. I feel like I'm done sitting in front of the computer all day forcing myself to do work that I have ABSOLUTELY NO MOTIVATION to do. I'm not really sure *why* I do it except that I don't know what else to do. I just don't know how to admit to myself that I'm done and I have to move on. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). out of my head: The Nature of Work
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-nature-of-work.html
Out of my head. Monday, September 24, 2012. The Nature of Work. I hate autumn. Everyone is so happy that it has arrived. Me? David Rakoff (may he rest in peace) said of writing in Don't Get Too Comfortable:. Yes, Mr. Rakoff. That's about right. Making. ahhh! This makes perfect sense to me. The way it's all set up. It's a fucking crock. I had a conversation with my friend J this morning about the industrious folks on the Baltimore Free Farm. Outside of the Free Farm's commitment to sustainability, their v...
out of my head: Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. -Albert Einstein
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2012/09/insanity-doing-same-thing-over-and-over.html
Out of my head. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. -Albert Einstein. When something isn't working, you change it. My harness leads to things I like about myself: my firmly held convictions, my discipline, my strength (both physical and emotional), my biting sense of humor (i.e., making fun of things), the fact that I'm forthcoming. I'm experiencing one of those metamorphoses right now. Onward. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
out of my head: August 2012
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Saturday, August 18, 2012. Instead, for me, yoga is about dealing with the world as it is. It gives me the tools to breathe through the frustration. Sometimes practicing is one of the most frustrating things I do. For instance, I've been working on dropping. I'm glad nobody actually reads this blog. I'm sure this would be very offensive to lots of people. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Last trapping before winter and a colony loses its home. House of the Discarded.
out of my head: Energetic dogs and torn MCLs
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2013/06/energetic-dogs-and-torn-mcls.html
Out of my head. Saturday, June 22, 2013. Energetic dogs and torn MCLs. Exactly one week ago today, I was walking my neighbor's dog and BAM! Let's start with the easiest one. I'm not accustomed to immobility. I rely on my body for almost everything (I know, who doesn't? Also, I can't teach yoga right now. Chris and I have been living hand-to-mouth for a good while now. It's been *very* stressful. Relatedly, I've been trying to pay down my tuition before I shelled out the expense of health insu...I'm going...

Cherry Street Cats
Adventures in feeding and caring for feral cats. Monday, March 19, 2018. One pretty young female, I basically shoved her into the trap. And Jim a short distance away managed to get another cat from his small colony. I have yet to be able to get a good picture of a cat in a trap, this one below is the same one as the cat rubbing up against Larry's legs above. Friday, March 9, 2018. It's been quite the week! Well we are back to work and with a vengeance! Animals are much more resilient than people! Many mo...
