Gallery of bead creations. Gallery of material creations. Sunday, March 28, 2010. The latest towel dress that I made this month. Why is it called a towel dress? Exceptionally good question which I can't answer. Someone mistakenly called it a towel dress and the name has stuck. It is made from chenille. You know the stuff that bedspreads used to be made from - maybe they still are. That was 10 years ago and the grey dress was now thin, shabby, stained and with little fluffy chenille left on it. I went...

Stay with the ducks. Their thoughts (and mine). Saturday, 27 March 2010. I gave up smoking cigarettes nearly 12 months ago. Now I miss it. I won't start smoking again, of course. Why go through all that pain just to have to go through it again another day? I am hoping that talking about what I am feeling makes it easier stay on the path of not smoking. This is not a sign that I can resume smoking as it is so easy to give up! When did I start smoking cigarettes? There was something very risque about pooli...

Tuesday, June 7, 2011. This is my version of these tasty little morsels:. 125 grams unsalted real butter. 150 grams plain flour. 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese. 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese. Pile all these ingredients into a food processor. Process until a dough ball forms. Take out of bowl, break into two pieces. Roll each piece into a sausage shape using plastic wrap. Roll up in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Take out of fridge and unwrap. Slice dough into thin circles. Food a...

Stay with the ducks. Their thoughts (and mine). Tuesday, 22 May 2012. Ducks in Bali at Capung Mas. The reason for the trip to Ubud in September 2011 was a girlfriend's eldest daughter was being married and I was invited, and therefore went. The wedding itself and the gatherings before and afterwards were held at Capung Mas. More details of this fabulous house go to their website. The two Tut Ducks at the front gate, feeling important. General views from the side verandah upstairs, Capung Mas. And another...

Thursday, April 28, 2011. I love having a jar of harissa in the fridge. When I am feeling lazy I can put 1/4 teaspoon of harissa into whatever it is I am cooking for myself and it livens everything up very well, particularly leftovers! If I am cooking for more people, yes, I would put more. Dried red chillies – stalks removed. Start by bringing chillies to boil. In a pan, using just enough water to cover them. Remove from heat and set aside to sit in water for one hour. Drain chillies and place in blender.

Stay with the ducks. Their thoughts (and mine). Monday, 6 June 2011. Travelling from Darwin to Canberra - Day 1. I know that I have been a little behind in posting but I did not realise that I have not posted any of the photos of the ducks on our journey from Darwin to Canberra. How remiss of me! Now, to the photos -. Ducks in their basket in Darwin - quite a cosy fit and there were no complaints about the closeness. All of the ducks at the bird bath in Noonamah. Travelling with rubber ducks.

Stay with the ducks. Their thoughts (and mine). Sunday, 17 June 2012. Ducks in Europe 2011. This time it is not my ducks that went to Europe but my daughter and son-in-law's ducks, with only a little hinting and prodding from me for them to pack them. Both ducks in the apartment in Venice, posing in front of a painting. Which one has the haughtiest facial expression? And in case you couldn't guess where. And a more general view of where. And again, I wonder. Tuesday, 5 June 2012. Scroll down quickly .
