http://laurelcrown.blogspot.com/2012/03/national-history-day-and-juggling.html
To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Thursday, March 1, 2012. National History Day and the Juggling Student. Is a high school student juggling three volleyballs in a history classroom news? In Canton, South Dakota, it just might be. One of the wonders of my job is also its curse: quirky subject matter. When you’re a journalist in a town of 3,000, story ideas sometimes require some creativity. And sometimes people surprise you. 8220;Can I be in it? 8221; asked the random student behind me. 8220;Well...

To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure: August 2011

To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Wednesday, August 10, 2011. What a Sweet Old Mannnn.Nope. What started as a routine trip to the grocery store for cheese, crackers and fudge sticks Tuesday evening quickly turned into the stuff of legend for my friend Elizabeth and myself. Preparing for a visit to an friend’s apartment, we decided to drop in on our local grocery store to try and scrounge up some culinary compliments to Wood Chuck Cider and other such libations. 8221; she asked excitedly. Standin...

To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Sunday, July 22, 2012. This Is The Life. This is the life.". Says Sam, sitting in the passenger seat of a 2011 Chevy Impala loaner with a biscuit breakfast sandwich from Burger King in his lap and silly grin on his face. It was the picture of ultimate contentment. Sam has a way of reminding me what that looks like. The drive home only got better. With the Word of the Lord in our hearts, Burger King sounded good for our stomachs. Does it get any better? Being eas...

To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Sunday, April 1, 2012. The Greatest Adventure, Is What Lies Ahead. Our internet is so slow that I have been involuntarily resigned from every single game of Words With Friends because I cannot load it! I have never resigned from a word game in my life! Ok, in other news, I start a new job tomorrow! A happy place, indeed. Do you know anyone who's exactly like you who's looking for a job? Two days later, I decided to apply. I sent in the application on a Thurs...

To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure: Another Year
http://laurelcrown.blogspot.com/2012/02/another-year.html
To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. A few things have happened since my last blogging encounter, for example: a new year, I'm 24, the Packers aren't in the Super Bowl and I made my karoake debut! Everything inbetween is a rainbow-colored blur. Perhaps if I didn't wait so long between posts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. These are a few of my favorite things. Give me the great outdoors, a pen and paper and a camera. H...

What is this I hear of sorrow and weariness, anger, discontent and drooping hopes? Degenerate sons and daughters, life is too strong for you; it takes life to love Life." Edgar Lee Masters, Spoon River Anthology. Friday, March 4, 2011. Still a work in progress? I'm not completely happy with it.). 8220;Ceci est le sac de semeur. Prenez et jetez au vent.” – Victor Hugo. To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure: Dordt Senior Shows Preview
http://laurelcrown.blogspot.com/2010/04/dordt-senior-shows-preview.html
To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Dordt Senior Shows Preview. Story that I wrote for Dordt's school newspaper:. What does a woman trapped in the social conventions of the 1920s and a man searching for his slain father’s sword in Edo, Japan have in common? Roos’s “Machinal,” an expressionist play, follows the journey of a woman in the 1920s forced into situations dictated by convention. Written by a woman and based on a true story, Roos was drawn t...Eggebeen’s pl...

Book Learning: July 2005
http://booklearning.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
A one-woman quest to conquer her own irrelevance. Monday, July 11, 2005. Several things to note about Mexico, that I, the one person in my class who had not been to Tijuana, have gathered. Shopkeepers are very aggressive. Marble chess sets are darn pretty. Said chess sets are also hard to haggle over. There are peddling children around every corner. Sunburns make one hyper, at least for one night. Volleyball is an excellent way to pass the time. Anyone can speak Spanish when put under enough pressure.

A one-woman quest to conquer her own irrelevance. Wednesday, March 30, 2005. That's Right, A. Monday, March 28, 2005. My computer hates me. Join the line, buddy. That's Right, I'm on break. Which means what, kiddies? That's right. Big golden star for you. I work. Granted, myspace isn't exactly the paragon of virtue, but it's getting to be a mite ridiculous. I am actually being serious, not A)Psycho-killer or B)sarcastic psycho-killer). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I read and write sporadically.
