After Beijing . . . Whenever I visit a new place, I never worry about trying to see everything in one visit. I can always return for the things I missed. Even after all the time I’ve spent in Beijing so far, there are still many things left to see. I try to pick up two or three new venues each trip while still revisiting my old favorites. OK I’ll admit it. Shanghai is not my favorite city in China. Not by a long shot. There’s too many people. Too much traffic — traffic that goes way too fast. But that doesn’t mean I’ll write it off as a tourist destination. It does have many interesting things to see and do. It’s got some of the most innovative architecture I’ve ever seen. A cruise on the Huangpu River at night is a good, relaxing way to see this. The Shanghai Museum is fantastic. Shopping mall in Shanghai. The Shanghai motorcycle market.
