Children's Literature Class Blog: The Power of Love

http://www.childlitspring2010.blogspot.com/2010/03/power-of-love.html

Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The Power of Love. How would you describe what love feels like? Is is a warm fuzzy feeling? Oblivious to the notion of love until he experiences it for the first time, Jonas instantly connects with his feelings as he "liked the feeling of love" and felt "a little more complete" (126). Jonas' entire world is shifted upside down, particularly his relationship with his family, after becoming aware of the concept of love. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Karen, are you there?

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Yes, The Child Knows Best. I have to be honest, right after I finished reading, I put the book on my bedside table and stayed in bed for a good ten minutes just thinking about the text. What was missing? Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Peter Pan: Encouraging Children To Embrace The Inevitable. On the walk to my car after class today I pondered a question that centered as the focus of our class discussion but was never blatantly asked: What would life be like if children never had to grow up? Don't you hear people all the time wish they were pack in Kindergarden taking naps, enjoying recess and living the life free of "adult" worries? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Children's Literature Class Blog: Life: A Journey with Obstacles

Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Life: A Journey with Obstacles. March 3, 2010 at 10:48 AM. March 3, 2010 at 10:06 PM. March 6, 2010 at 7:08 AM. I like that you said that Tree-ear is mature. I think maturity is an interesting and important topic in childrens literature, because with words like maturity we place value on age and stages of life. I agree, I do think Tree-ear is mature, and I also agree with your explanation of his maturity: he understands his circumstances are obstacles that he can overcome.
