Driving in the Lazy Gear | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/06/24/driving-in-the-lazy-gear
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Driving in the Lazy Gear. Is it better to be lazy and driven — in other words, determined to succeed with the least effort possible. Or is it better to be terrified and stubborn — in other words motivated by fear and stubborn enough to drag yourself through hell to get where you’re going. Or is it better to be both? I guess it all depends on how I did on my boards – so we shall see in a coupla few weeks. I’m getting it. Laquo; Lies and Regrets. Date : June 24, 2009.

Blinded Professionalism | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/blinded-professionalism
Just another WordPress.com weblog. It’s funny, reading in the NYTimes today – business schools are scratching their heads. They want to figure out exactly where they went wrong. The economic collapse has left them wondering what’s next – and why exactly their proteges and products didn’t see it coming and couldn’t steer their respective ships – read: companies – away from the brink of the financial abyss that opened up on Wall St. But isn’t that what they were supposed to do in medical school? Well, what...

Skills and Tide | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/06/24/skills-and-tide
Just another WordPress.com weblog. As the month of July approaches every year – something remarkable in the medical world happens…. The brand new doctors of the world are unleashed onto the floors as interns. They also have a new challenge thrust upon them…. They too are going to learn new skills and shoehorn facts into their brains. What is interesting though, is that both intern and medical student have things to teach each other. In other words, it’s a two-way flow of information. Intern...They are al...

What I’d like to see… | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/08/02/what-id-like-to-see
Just another WordPress.com weblog. What I’d like to see…. Just a forewarning: I’ve had two glasses of wine prior to writing this. By glasses I mean half bottles. By half bottles I mean about 60% of a bottle. Again, I’ve had a lot of wine to drink. This blog posts’ original intention was to say I wanted a completely automated home. But now I’m thinking about information and the transformative power it has, in addition to the psychological effects of information. Psychological effects of information? Leave...

Balanced Aspirations | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/09/27/balanced-aspirations
Just another WordPress.com weblog. A few years back I felt sort’ve stuck in a rut. I wasn’t living up to my potential. I wasn’t producing anything of consequence to myself, my family, or society. I wasn’t living anything close to a fulfilled life. I had what seemed like few consequential hobbies outside of cruising facebook religiously. I hadn’t quite mastered anything – only dabbled really. I still haven’t. 1) I want to master my professional trade – medicine. I am going to create, over the ne...4) I...

https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/10
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Sharing the pants…. One of my new mentors is a middle aged doctor, who does something that I honestly can’t see myself doing in a million years. He is a good schmoozer and has fun teaching students. He’s a touchy-feely kinda guy who feels incredibly blessed to be in the field of medicine. I in turn hope to have those same feelings in another 15-20 years…. One more thing…. Sharing the pants has a certain allure…. Again, for years it’s seemed like trying to meld our...

Ratings a.k.a. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised… | Terroncito's Thoughts
https://terroncito.wordpress.com/2009/01/08/ratings-aka-the-revolution-will-not-be-televised
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Ratings a.k.a. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised…. John Travolta’s child died a few days ago. Let me restate that in terms that are a little more humanistic. A few days ago, a father lost his son – forever. Desperate futile calls for help, and still his son perished. John Travolta is a Scientologist. Let me restate that in terms that are a little more humanistic. There is a man who has beliefs that not everyone agrees on. Those beliefs happen to be religious. Reality...
