Healing Hearts

http://childrensgriefconnection.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-hope-is.html

Tuesday, July 1, 2014. By Coral Popowitz, Executive Director, Children's Grief Connection. At Hearts of Hope family grief camp our cuddly mascot teddy bear named "Hope" passes around slips of paper that say:. Blank slips meant to be filled in with words, wishes, thoughts, feelings, hopes for what the future may bring now that someone in their life has died. Hope is defined at Hearts of Hope Camp as: the feeling that everything is going to be okay. Not great, maybe not even good. for awhile. This blog is ...

Healing Hearts: June 2012

http://childrensgriefconnection.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. As Camp weekend approaches I get nervous. I begin to think about the kids I will meet, all with their own stories, all in the midst of their grief. I know from previous weekends, that Camp will be an amazing experience for them, but it doesn’t stop me from worrying. Will I have the words? Will I recognize their pain? Will I see beyond their mask? Will what I have to offer, be worth the risk to accept it? It is truly awe inspiring to witness how they care for one another. Will I re...

Healing Hearts: August 2014

http://childrensgriefconnection.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 18, 2014. Another Riff on Gratitude. We received a very generous donation at Children’s Grief Connection this week - generous enough to fund a family of four to attend Hearts of Hope Family grief camp. We are very grateful and no doubt so will the grieving family be. We would like to thank this person but cannot; this was an anonymous donor. I understand and appreciate anonymity in giving. While I appreciate the humility of giving without expectation I also know the gratitude and desire to...

http://tunheims.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Here are some photographs that were taken from the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge that crosses the Red River from Moorhead to Fargo. It’s one of two remaining bridges that are still open, all seven other bridges in the metro area are under water. Believe it or not, you are typically able to drive underneath on the Moorhead side of the bridge. Watching… Waiting… Praying…. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We are a cozy family of four. http://tunheims.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. 8220;Hey everybody, see ya later! This evening after Kaleb and I finished mowing the lawn we were visiting with our neighbors, Trent and Elaine, when Kaleb quickly ran for the garage saying, “Daddy, I have to poop.”. Pooping in our house is a big deal right now as we have struggled with potty training #2, so I abruptly ended the conversation and ran after him to help. After Kaleb did his job, while looking in the toilet, he said, “Oh wow! That’s a biiiig one! The entire front of...

Healing Hearts

Thursday, September 4, 2014. The Hope of a New School Year. The first day of school brings hope for the new school year, whether it’s the kindergartner ready to make new friends, the fourth grader ready to be a ‘big kid’, the middle schooler headed for a new school building or the high school senior starting his last year at school and at home…. New adventures, new experiences always bring a certain level of anxiety (a mixture of fear and of anticipation of the unknown). Monday, August 18, 2014. We are v...
