Zeuhl meets Wall Street. Friday, August 13, 2010. Is Oracle a Threat to Java. Over the use of Java. I really don't follow what is happening in the Java community. But, any IT woker on Wall Street knows that there are an awful lot of trading systems whose server-side processing is written in Java. Many of those system rely on open-source efforts that may eventually come under fire by Oracle. Will this also affect alternate Java VM implementations that are used in trading systems? Computers, Babies n' Other Rants: March 2006
http://chrisdonnan.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Computers, Babies n' Other Rants. This is where I will rant about . Computer stuff, baby stuff, and whatever else strikes me. In essence, I am into software development - any large class software app - especially anything having to do with AI is of interest. Of course - my family - is of the utmost interest to me as well - so there will be lots about them here too :). Saturday, March 11, 2006. Posted by chris donnan at 8:29 AM. Wednesday, March 08, 2006. Zeuhl meets Wall Street. Thursday, February 04, 2010. The Sybase / Aleri Announcement is out. The announcement came out this morning. A very short press release. Don DeLoach (who was not mentioned in the press release) is leaving the company. As are others. My main question is where this will leave the legacy Aleri product. As we all know, Sybase RAP uses a copy of Coral8. And where does this leave the new "Ohio" product, which was the magical combination of Aleri and Coral8. Links to this post.

Magmasystems Blog: Brazil and Other Closing Thoughts for 2011

Zeuhl meets Wall Street. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Brazil and Other Closing Thoughts for 2011. Last week, I came back energized from the first two weeks of my engagement in Sao Paolo, Brazil. I am amazed at how Brazil is exploding, and there seems to be a lot of evidence to support my observations. But, before I go into Brazil, I want to backtrack a few weeks. The first engagement that I had was in Miami Beach (yeah, life sucks, right? Brazil overtakes UK as sixth-largest economy. Traffic is a mess t...

Zeuhl meets Wall Street. Friday, January 13, 2012. Imagine if I could charge overtime to the companies that I have worked for when I responded to email at home? While climbing the Canadian Rockies? While drinking Cidra at a bar in Spain? Imagine how much nicer my vacations could have been if I had been forced to be disconnected from work? Nah this wouldn't work for me . I am a workaholic, and I couldn't imagine being disconnected from the office.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Here is the City.

Zeuhl meets Wall Street. Saturday, March 06, 2010. A Few Notes on What I Am Up To. I don't blog very much anymore. When I joined my new company, I agreed to cut down on the blogging, and I have been so incredibly busy that I would not have been able to blog even if given free rein. We also have a lot of openings for great C /Linux people who have heavy financial industry experience with real-time systems. (Sorry to all of the Java devs . we don't use Java at all.).
