Missouri Musings: June 2015
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Some snapshots from the chaotic end-of-school-year month. I let my Small Fry skip school on May 1st to join me for lunch and the new Avengers 2 movie on opening day. I was the only female in the theater! I took some of the kids to a local carnival in Kearney. I love our small town! And at brunch at Ginger Sue's before getting back to our usual lives as Mom and Dad. Ryan and I went to dinner with Webbs and Napiers one evening, and left Lindsey in charge of the younger boys since Br...

Missouri Musings: December 2014
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. You know how the real thing is rarely as perfect as you imagine it will be? Well that was not the case this Christmas. It was as close to perfection as it could have been. After attending mass, the kids excitedly opened their Christmas Eve gifts . . . new pajamas, a personal ornament and a photo book with the highlights from their year. Brevan received some epic monkey jammies with ears and a tail. While they were reading books and chatting in Brynlie's room, Santa arrived....

Missouri Musings: January 2014
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 16, 2014. For some reason, I don't like the term "New Year Resolutions." It seems too cliche, commercialized, overwhelming, stress-inducing and depressing. In 2013 I set a couple goals, and I'm happy to report that I accomplished them. I wanted to run a race after training. Check. I wanted to return to college. Double check. We also set some family goals, which I chronicled HERE. Family Home Evening: C. Exercise: C (again, first half of the year we got an A, second half we got a D).

Missouri Musings: April 2015
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Highlights from the most emotionally and physically draining month I've ever had. This pretty much sums it up. I took this picture after wearing slippers in public for the third day in a row. At least this day I put on jeans because all my yoga pants were dirty. Logan learned to ride his bike . . . er, I guess technically Logan learned to ride Madelyn Napier's old bike because his got thrown away accidentally. Lindsey is a ridiculously great baker. Seriously, this girl can mak...

Missouri Musings: March 2014
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. The kids rode to church with Napiers while Ryan and I stayed home to rest. I'm very sad I wasn't able to attend today. I always need the weekly spiritual boost that church offers. I'm looking forward to General Conference this next weekend, though, which will fill up my spirituality cup. We had our own patio that led to a grassy area where the kids could play (that's Lindsey mid-handspring). We also had two pools within 50 yards of the back door. Our trip was during the Flower and...

Missouri Musings: April Monthly Mash-up
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2015/06/april-monthly-mash-up.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2015. But let me add that NEVER in my entire life have I felt closer to God than I did during that difficult time. I will make a whole post about a few of those experiences because I want to remember them forever. Pre-surgery pictures taken by Brynlie, who supported me at the hospital along with Ryan. Now on to some fun stuff! My church callings right now are Primary teacher for the 8/9 year-olds and Activity Day leader (again). Maybe I'm repeating myself here, but these are THE BEST...

Missouri Musings: May 2015
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 2, 2015. I'm preparing to leave the rolling hills of the Midwest and return to the Rocky Mountains where I lived from June, 1986 to September, 2005. I have so many memories of my time in Utah, both great and difficult. I had braces - no child should have to endure dating with braces. Maybe I could have worn a slip so my dress wasn't completely see-through? This picture was taken right before heading to my graduation ceremony. I was standing by the big front window of the Living Room....

Missouri Musings: August 2014
http://ellefsen-family.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 22, 2014. A new school year. As much as we tried to stay in denial about the end of summer, school started again last week. I took all the kids to Back to School Night a couple days before the actual first day of school. Logan was thrilled about having his same teacher from last year, Mrs. Schuman. He is excited every day to attend 1st grade and has already started making a couple new friends. I took these pictures on the morning of the first day of school. Brynlie held back her tears on t...

Missouri Musings: June 2014

Monday, June 30, 2014. Ryan is officially done with chemotherapy! But we are seeing the light at the end of a long cancer tunnel! Roy and Bonnie extended their vacation so they could be with Ryan at his last chemo treatment. I took this picture right after we arrived at the Cancer Center. Ryan always tries to pick a seat next to the large windows so the day is a little less depressing. This is my view while I watch over my Superman. I love the beautiful fountain and flowers out the windows. Roy and Bonni...
