When we visited Charleston in 2001, we stayed outside of the city and drove in to explore and walk around. One of the things we enjoyed was seeing the historic houses and their private courtyard gardens. When we decided to visit this time, I was interested in staying in the downtown historic district and was thrilled to find the Elliott House Inn. Our room had a king sized bed. View from the hot tub at night.

Tie between City Lights Coffee. Both of these places are conveniently located by my home and work. The Muddy Mocha at Muddy Waters is my go to but the coffee milkshakes at City Lights are seriously life changing. The Mesa Verde is my favorite but I also like to get their monthly specials because I’ve never been disappointed. Get the Pork Trifecta. Trust me. 2 off glasses of wine? Best Gnocchi. Ever. Try the Kiawah Roll and you can thank me later. The Karaage-Don is simply AH-mazing!
