A Mixed Media Journal: Clare Murray Adams

A Mixed Media Journal: Clare Murray Adams. Writings devoted to the ways in which materials and techniques affect my art process. Sunday, August 16, 2015. I seem to be unable to keep stitching or references about sewing and fiber from my artwork. The use of the thread and pattern paper in the background with the silverware made me think of the days when women worked in factories making shirts and dresses. I could see the short breaks these women were allowed to take for lunch and their metal lunch pails.

A Mixed Media Journal: Clare Murray Adams. Writings devoted to the ways in which materials and techniques affect my art process. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Knives, Spoons and Mom's Recipe Box. More from the silverware series where I used those precious, favorite napkins as collage elements. The writing behind the napkins are copies of some of my mother's recipes. I have her little recipe file box, which is pictures above, as well as lots of loose recipes that she collected. Labels: clare murray adams.

A Mixed Media Journal: Clare Murray Adams. Writings devoted to the ways in which materials and techniques affect my art process. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. For me a ruler or tape measure has always referenced the idea of measuring up. Meeting up to someone's expectations. The dress that is framed by the ruler pieces is half white and half dark,. Representing the good and evil that is in all of us. This small mixed media work incorporates some found metal pieces along with upholstery tacks. My goal was to m...

Variations on a Theme no. 8. This layered collage incorporates whole pieces of paper and fabric with some found remnants of other collage pieces. For my purposes, stitching on paper is drawing. The addition of the coppery metal pieces adds dimension to the flat surface. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. More White on White.

A Mixed Media Journal: Clare Murray Adams. Writings devoted to the ways in which materials and techniques affect my art process. Sunday, August 9, 2015. From Paper Napkin to Art. I've had a package of paper napkins with silverware imagery on them for a while now. The silverware is nicely rendered and looks like a set that my mom might have had. It was fun to incorporate the silverware napkins with the sheet music. Labels: clare murray adams. August 31, 2015 at 5:56 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Clare's Pregnancy shoot

Monday, 30 June 2014. Natalie and Daniel were married at the Barrandov Opera near Needham Market on the 14th June. After a dodgy start the weather improved and was glorious for the photos and filming. I just loved the finishing touches. Daniel with his new nephew in law Caleb. The cake was really lovely and incorporated Natalie's love of Phantom of the Opera and Dan's motor racing. The Barrandov is a lovely venue. Natalie looks so happy. Gorgeous car, which everyone got to see after the ceremony.
