I laid down various textures on differing supports that were mostly card or packaging cardboard (plentiful and inexpensive) that I’d first covered with PVA, again, the cheapest variety. In one case I used commercial paste in stripes over the smooth surface of corrugated cardboard, and this led to an idea, that I will discuss in a later post.

Cliff Helsel is a computer professional that has been developing software since the age of 13. At 13 years old Cliff wrote a video game called Brickbuster that was developed for the Texas Instruments Professional Computer (shown below). Cliff later developed a high speed text retrieval engine for an early database called FoxPro. The text retrieval system was named Fastext and predated similar technology used by Google and Yahoo. If only he had connected his text retrieval engine to the Internet!

After several years doing firstly the drawing, then the painting courses, I decided to go my own way. And on the first day after leaving OCA, and every day after that, there is the question ‘what to draw/paint/print today? You can do whatever. The surface is an oil canvas paper and is 40 x 26 cm.
