Nate’s Birthday and Safari. August 12, 2015. We finally have wifi that is decent enough to to let us post. And there is so much to tell! We arrived around 2pm on Monday, August 10th, which just so happened to be Nate’s birthday! After the 7 he crater drive, we headed back to our hotel in Moshi (the one we stayed in the first night). Woah We just climbed THAT? Just heard from Rob that they made the Summit yesterday (Sunday) on what was the “hardest day of the trip” - 14 hours of climbing. The phone cut out, but I’m assuming he was calling from Camp 5 at 17,200 ft. Possibly Camp 4 at 14,000? He was just waking up and sounded tired but healthy.
