Fleetwood's Mountain Log: August 2004
http://johnfleetwood.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2004. Knoydart Round, August 2004. 55 miles, 26,500 feet, 27 hours 40 mins, solo unsupported on sight circuit of Knoydart's rough hills. This route is one of the roughest you'll find anywhere in Britain with big ascents and descents following one after another. I completed the round after driving up to the dam at quoich, sleeping for a few hours and then setting out alone not having reccied the route. 27 hours later I returned, had a cat nap and drove home again.

Saturday, July 10, 2004. Welsh 24 Hour Round, 7/8 July 2004. 63 miles, 26,700 feet, 23 hours and 20 minutes, solo unsupported. The inclusion of the Northern Carneddau 3000 foot peaks adds a further 7 miles and 1300 feet and about 2 hours. Wanting to amend the classic Paddy Buckley Round in North wales I set about devising an alternative route but logical route that encompassed Crib Goch. It took me three goes, but in the end I managed such a route, ending in dramatic circumstances.

Fleetwood's Mountain Log: June 2005
http://johnfleetwood.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 09, 2005. 40 Tops at 40, 30/31 May 2005. 66 miles, 24,000 feet, 23 hours 45 mins, solo unsupported. If you live in the Lake District, the Bob Graham route can become a bit familiar, and for those who have done it, what next? Does it have to be harder and is it possible to design a route in the Lakes that even approaches the BG for continuity and purity of line? Posted by John Fleetwood at 1:09 PM. Monday, August 08, 2005. Borrowdale Race, 7 August 2005. 17 miles, 6600 feet, 3 hours 30 mins 5 secs, 35/375. I seemed to have no power in my legs and I felt weak from the first ascent onwards, including the downhills where I would normally expect to bound down. This made for a hard race! Ben enjoyed watching the kiddies races afterwards - tug of war, egg and spoon, etc., but couldn't be persuaded to take part on his own. Posted by John Fleetwood at 11:46 AM. View my complete profile.
