Climbing The Fence: June 2014 - A blog of photos and adventures by Jeffrey R Stroup

http://www.climbingthefence.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 30, 2014. Abandonment Issues vol. 002. On the way home from the train tunnel my friend Brandon called me to see if I wanted to meet up with him to explore a few abandoned buildings. Next door to the building that we explored was an abandoned playground. Photos taken with a Canon Mark III. With a Canon 20mm f/2.8. Friday, June 27, 2014. Film Friday - 4. I have tons of cameras in my collection, but the one that I use the least is my Holga. Dinosaur from Pee-wee's Big Adventure. Photos taken wi...

Climbing The Fence: Morning Hike - A blog of photos and adventures by Jeffrey R Stroup

http://www.climbingthefence.com/2015/05/morning-hike.html

Thursday, May 7, 2015. Woke up early, made coffee, picked up Kaylah. And went for a hike in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Mornings are almost always foggy in the valley and my plan was to get down there early enough that I could take advantage of the fog along one of my favorite sections of the Towpath Trail. There were so many turtles in the canal. Photos taken with a Canon 6D. Using a Canon 20mm f/2.0. Canon 135mm f/2.0. And a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. May 7, 2015 at 4:40 PM.

Monday, December 15, 2014. When my phones rings and I see that it's Mike. Untangle extension cords before borrowing a little bit of electricity. Getting the light set up. The fist set of falls. Mike approaching the falls. Carrying the Kayaks back upstream after going over the second falls. Photos taken with a Canon Mark III. With a Canon 35mm f/1.4. Canon 135mm f/2.0. And Rokinon 8mm Fisheye. Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Jason and Brandon taking photos. Photos taken with a Canon Mark III. The weather co...

Climbing The Fence: February 2015 - A blog of photos and adventures by Jeffrey R Stroup

http://www.climbingthefence.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 27, 2015. Film Friday - 8. The return of Film Friday! So here is a sampling of film photos taken between July 2014 and January 2015. Somewhere in North Carolina. On a snowy day after she finished shooting outfit photos. A desert of ice and snow. Snow storm from a rooftop. The overlook at Gambrill State Park. I posted the digital version of this photo a few days ago. Kayaking the Cuyahoga River. A decommissioned lift bridge. Watching a ship pass while taking a break from a bike ride.

Climbing The Fence: May 2015 - A blog of photos and adventures by Jeffrey R Stroup

http://www.climbingthefence.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 29, 2015. Forty-Four Years Too Late. I was shocked that the chemicals hadn't dried out, but the first few photos still didn't yield much of an image. Eventually I was able to snap a couple photos that actually kind of worked. It was really cool being able to shoot with film that old. I actually really like shooting with expired film whenever I can get my hands on some regardless of what kind of film it is. Photos taken with a Polaroid Colorpack II. Using Polaroid Type 107. In the past week or...

Jason Unoriginal: April 2015

http://www.jasonunoriginal.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 30, 2015. This Used To Be Home. I will never understand all of the things that I discover left behind in the places I visit. I will never understand their lack of significance to their once-owners. I will never understand how or why an individual can leave so abruptly, as to seemingly forget their previous surroundings entirely. A lamp still adorns the corner. A calendar continues to hang onto May of 2011, while a card from Mother provides sentiment. Movies await their turn in rotation.

Jason Unoriginal: March 2015

http://www.jasonunoriginal.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. During the Spring time, I always find myself working on bikes way more than any other time of the year. I typically tend to catch up on routine maintenance on my own bike(s), clean, detail, and tune-up bikes for friends, and sometimes even build them from the frame up. I love working with older, vintage bikes, and restoring them back into working shape. I often hear people saying that they'd love to get a bicycle to ride, but that they "can't afford one." You can easily. AFTER: A...

Jason Unoriginal: May 2015

http://www.jasonunoriginal.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Every year for Spring Break, one of my closest friends Jon. And I take a little vacation down South. But, this isn't your typical Spring Break trip full of bikini-clad babes, booze, and bad decisions. .well, I guess the "bad decisions" part depends on who you ask. We drive down to the small, private island known as "Fripp Island" just off the coast near Beaufort, South Carolina. I feel like this would make the perfect "My life right now." meme. See you next year! I unfortunately do ...

Jason Unoriginal: July 2015

http://www.jasonunoriginal.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31, 2015. Revisited: The White Dove Mattress Company. Back in February, Jake. And I took a very cold journey into the old, large warehouse of the former White Dove Mattress Company. Everything was frozen, and everything was gray. And I took our time wandering throughout all of the levels, right up until sunset. Although I didn't shoot many photos, Erin picked up my slack in her post. About this great location. Give it a read! Until next time. Xx. Saturday, July 25, 2015. Friday, July 24, 2015.

All photos text on this blog are property of Kaylah Doolan/The Dainty Squid unless noted. Powered by Blogger. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Since the second I learned about Wigwam Village a few years back I knew I needed to stay there. I love tacky roadside attractions, and tourist traps. It's just so kitsch, how could you not love it! For the longest time I couldn't find anyone to go with. The only one I knew of at the time was in seven hours away in Kentucky. No one saw the point except me. And stayed at ...

The main reason we actually took a detour to Kentucky before heading over to North Carolina? If you recall, back in June, Jeff. And I actually stayed in one in Arizona. The one in Kentucky is the one I originally knew about waaaay before I even met Jeff, before I even moved to Cleveland, before I even drove! You Might Also Like. November 3, 2014 at 9:54 AM. Reading Ray Kurzweil's books on the Singularity has inspired this organization of articles, thoughts and conversations. I have often sent my friends articles that I find interesting, especially when they relate to breakthrough technologies. This is one place I can point my friends to as evidence of either current research or especially businesses profitting from business models that are inevitable steps leading to the Singularity. Climbing the Faraway Tree!

Climbing the Faraway Tree! Friday, January 10, 2014. January 6 2014. I lost my first tooth! Woohoo I lost my first tooth. The tooth fairy left two $2 coins. Mum says that's because it's my first tooth. I'm going to put it in my new money tin and save it for my tablet. Links to this post. December 31 2013, Christmas tree time! Links to this post. January 4 2014, Birthday sandpit. Leon was super excited to 'unwrap' his sandpit. And the Tonka dump truck. He's been watching Dad build it for the last few days.

Thursday, October 8, 2015. Watching You From Above. After every wedding that Brandon and I shoot we try to go out and do some exploring or climbing. It doesn't always work out and sometimes we're just too exhausted from shooting the wedding, but a couple weeks ago we managed to have a very successful night. Brandon topping it out. While on out way down. What are you doing? I could sit quietly on a rooftop all night long and watch the world below. It's an incredible feeling. Photos taken with a Canon 6D.

Climbing the Great Wall

Climbing the Great Wall. Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land. - - Proverbs 25:25. Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone,. But still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute,. You didn't grow under my heart- but in it. I didn't give you the gift of life,. But in my heart I know. The love I feel is deep and real. As if it had been so. For us to have each other. Is like a dream come true! No, I didn't give you the gift of life,. Life gave me the gift of you.
