Clitheroe Mountaineers: November 2015

http://clitheroemountaineers.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Tuesday, 24 November 2015. Longsleddale Sunday 22nd November 2015. The forecast was cold and bright, first snows of the season for the Lake District, and twelve members met at Sadgill with high expectations. We made our way up Shipman Knotts and on to Kentmere Pike, but the summits were under cloud and the views as we continued along the ridge to Harter Fell were fleeting. At least the bogs were frozen and the company was good. Marje, Chris, Anne and Phil.

Clitheroe Mountaineers: October 2016

http://clitheroemountaineers.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Tuesday, 11 October 2016. Horseshoe Quarry, Derbyshire - Sunday October 9th. Nevertheless, all seven of us that turned up had an excellent day with the first-timers vowing to return as soon as possible. Horseshoe is a vast quarry with two tiers and we only had time to scratch the surface of what's on offer there. The upper tier has some superb routes in a quieter setting which we can perhaps explore next time? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Clitheroe Mountaineers: Walk Sunday 30th October 2016

http://clitheroemountaineers.blogspot.com/2016/11/walk-sunday-30th-october-2016.html

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Tuesday, 1 November 2016. Walk Sunday 30th October 2016. A group of fourteen walkers, and one very excited dog, met at Ribblehead viaduct to catch the train to Dent station. There was just enough time aboard the train for several members to take advantage of the facilities on the train, but only just, as SH found out, much to the amusement of the rest of the party! Got to get a picture of that! Lunch with a view. Many thanks Chris and Rob for a great day.

Clitheroe Mountaineers: Recent climbing and other pleasant activities

http://clitheroemountaineers.blogspot.com/2016/11/recent-climbing-and-other-pleasant.html

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Friday, 4 November 2016. Recent climbing and other pleasant activities. Not much to report in terms of outdoor climbing as the silly clocks have gone back as they do and we all start dreaming of next Spring and get downcast going to indoor climbing walls ad infinitum! Piccies from indoor climbing wall sessions are hardly inspiring, so I've added some of a young Sheffield climber indulging in one of the most fun-orientated branches of our amazing sport: dee...

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Monday, 22 August 2016. Duddon Valley Sunday 21st August 2016. Six club members travelled to Seathwaite in the Duddon Valley on an unpromising morning. The walk was centred around an ascent of Harter Fell. Thursday, 4 August 2016. Thursday Walk 4th August 2016.

Clitheroe Mountaineers: April 2016

http://clitheroemountaineers.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html

A record of Clitheroe Mountaineering Club meets. Thursday, 28 April 2016. Little Langdale April 2016. 10 club members met on the roadside close to Cockley Beck bridge and agreed that the risk assessment should have mention the horizontal snow squalls we encountered whilst passing over Wrynose enroute to the start of the walk. The snow stopped as suddenly as it had started and the group members set off in good spirits and soon found the was quite dry underfoot. That bit was boggy! Summit of Esk Pike.
