The Way Things Are: January 2013
http://hardinghomelife.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The Way Things Are. A mother of 2 tells it as it is. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. There is a clarity to my thinking. It is as if I have an allergy or just know that I cannot eat certain foods. I may not ever eat another doughnut. I may also have one in a few weeks (likely not, though). I see foods differently. I see how they make me feel and how they work in my body. I say this as I sip a glass of forbidden wine on a Tuesday night. So sue me! I did make a plan for this wine. Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

Today from Todai: a very long break
http://todaytodai.blogspot.com/2011/08/very-long-break.html
Two Americans just sharing our experiences in Tokyo with the folks back home. Saturday, August 06, 2011. A very long break. Hello to anyone that is still following our Todai blog! I am really sorry for the long break in blogging. Ever since the earthquake, I have been completely unable to write. Every time I sat down to blog something up, I was filled with incredible anxiety, sadness and worry. To this day I can't read an article about Japan without bursting into tears. http://hardinghomelife.blogspot.com/2013/01/what-influences-you.html
The Way Things Are. A mother of 2 tells it as it is. Saturday, January 26, 2013. Friday I had a smoked salmon sandwich for breakfast and the leftover spaghetti squash for lunch. I made soup which was loaded with veggies and some chicken for dinner. It was delicious. I also had a frosted cookie and a couple of slices of Italian bread with margarine on it. I also had 1 glass of wine. Today was a good day! Be well, out there. Stay focused. Stay strong. And be well. Saturday, January 26, 2013. The way it is ...

The Way Things Are: September 2010
http://hardinghomelife.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
The Way Things Are. A mother of 2 tells it as it is. Thursday, September 30, 2010. It takes a Village. When I moved away from South Carolina, I knew that I was abandoning my hands-on support network but I was embarking on a journey that would define who I was and establish a new support network - hopefully. I was lucky enough to know when to open my life to friends and I treasure those friendships still. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). LilySlim - Weight loss. The Way Things Are: November 2010
http://hardinghomelife.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
The Way Things Are. A mother of 2 tells it as it is. Monday, November 1, 2010. Shanti, Santhi or Shanthi (from Sanskrit शान्तिः śāntiḥ) means peace, rest, calmness, tranquility, or bliss. The poet T.S. Eliot, in his poem The Waste Land (where he spelled it Shantih) translated it as "The Peace which passeth understanding.". I am spending today at work, blessed and thankful that I can be in an office where people ask me about my weekend and family and really want to know about them both. I will be work...

Today from Todai: November 2010
http://todaytodai.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Two Americans just sharing our experiences in Tokyo with the folks back home. Thursday, November 18, 2010. New Orleans-style cooking class. Due to the high cost of some of my ingredients (particularly that pile of crab legs you see below), I only went with two dishes this time. This was good because both turned out to be pretty labor intensive. First dish was chicken and sausage gumbo adapted from a recipe by Emeril. Which they fried to a nice golden brown. And here is the final artery-clogging, indulgen...

Today from Todai: Takayama with Lil and Clare
http://todaytodai.blogspot.com/2011/09/takayama-with-lil-and-clare.html
Two Americans just sharing our experiences in Tokyo with the folks back home. Tuesday, September 06, 2011. Takayama with Lil and Clare. In late spring, my former boss Clare and her good friend Lil came to Japan, despite the radiation scare and fear of aftershocks. I set out from Tokyo to meet them in my favorite Japanese town, Takayama. I got my 30-different-kinds-of-food bento and rode the shinkansen. First we headed to shirokawago to see the thatched roof houses. And patches of it on the ground. The Pi...
