A Bit Of Earth: March 2014
http://herbitofearth.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
A Bit Of Earth. Monday, March 31, 2014. Spring Is Like, Springing. And Stuff. Not much going on in the garden right now, aside from dead things coming alive, which is pretty much in the awesome category. In the creepy category: watching June bugs crawling their way up to the surface of the soil from eggs buried beneath, like things back from the dead; then watching them dry and harden in the sun and finally take off to look for a mate, knowing they'll last little more than 72 hours). A Bit Of Earth: The Last Day of Spring
http://herbitofearth.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-last-day-of-spring.html
A Bit Of Earth. Thursday, May 21, 2015. The Last Day of Spring. I know, summer doesn't officially. Start until June 21st, but it's been in the 90s for half of May already. It may not be summer yet, technically, but it's already feeling like it. Today, though, it's cool and overcast, as gigantic storms race past, mostly to the north of where I live. It's been a rainy spring so far (thank you, El Nino! So I took a walk this morning. And more than the exercise, it reminded me how much I love. Last year I bu...

A Bit Of Earth. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Firstly: I FINALLY GOT A JOB! I haven't gotten much done in the way of yardwork or gardening for the past couple of months, because my asthma and allergies have been kicking my ass so severely that I've basically been couch-bound for two months. But I'm back to it, and have a few small things to share:. In May, I found this little (1") Golden Orb Weaver spider. In my yellow roses. I call her Margaret. She's now got a. On my front porch. A Bit Of Earth: April 2014
http://herbitofearth.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
A Bit Of Earth. Thursday, April 24, 2014. Hoocha Hoocha Hoocha - LOBSTER. Back in 2010 I built this pot rack shelfy thing. For my kitchen, out of cheap 2" sleepers, painted to match the walls. Seemed like a good idea at the time. And it worked - my pots and pans were right there, ready to grab; and for a while, at least, the trash can being somewhat sheltered kept the dog out of it. Until she figured out how to drag it out and open the lid (without knocking it over, even). Beautiful potted plant display.
